Wake Island - Japanese "Special Naval Landing Forces" (2 Viewers)

I have just received the opening shipments of Figarti"s new Wake Island series marine figures including the machine gun team bunker. I will go on record right now as saying: THESE ARE THE FINEST FIGURES FIGARTI HAS DONE YET!! Matt and his dad, in thier combined efforts with Figarti, should be congratulated for a job WELL DONE. The painting and attention to details is very good, and the choice of authentic weaponry is really good. I am looking forward to the jap marines coming soon. I hope this is the start of a pacific range that will include Marines from Guadalcanal, and Tarawa on, with the allies included also in thier zones of conflict up too and including Korea and early Vietnam--Marines armed with the great M-14 rifles instead of the Mattel toy specials--M-16's.................Stryker II

I agree about the figures. The early war uniforms are something totally different from anything else out there. Hopefully all of those first sets will sell out. That would give them incentive to come out with more Pacific stuff.

Figarti makes great vehicles and their figures are getting better in time AND they have the gonads to do Pacific sets"...

There are now some brilliant Pacific figures on the market at long last, and for me it's a dream come true because they're Early Pacific War, but please don't you go ordering any of them until I've had a chance to update my pre-order with Hobbybunker and double up on some of these sets.

Cheers
Harry

As for the Pacific, its an area of WW2 i know little about and so in a roundabout way interests me.I would be happy to see any of the producers make them and Figarti's new figures look superb.Have no fear though as limited dosh means i can't order them as yet,but i'll get there!

If anyone is thinking of making some USMC figures can i suggest we have some sets focussing on beach Landings, for instance some prone figures would not only be cool but realistic. With Multiples of these we could make some great scenes as the Marines battle to get a foothold on the beach.Having released some sets like this we could then move inland with different poses and equip etc.

I got my Marines in today. They are terrific, this is just the first set. more to get now!! congrats to Figarti and Hobby Bunker on a new trend in collecting.

Kingtoot: I knew you would like them as well as I do!!!!............Stryker

I think the boat is really unique. I pre-ordered it and the firefly from HB. My

Figarti Collection continues to grow! Now up to 10 pieces and counting!:)

These new Japanese and Marine figures are a great relief from the usual European Theater stuff. Any word on how orders and sales are on these new Pacific sets? ANy hope for more just like these in the future?

I think they missed the "boat" on this one......If your going to do Wake Island correct they should have done a full sized Destroyer....the Japs beached two of them during the second invasion attempt in order to off-load the troops! :D Come on Rick...we know you can do it! :D:cool::D

I just received my order of the new Jap Wake Island figures, and I must say that these figures, along with the Marines, are quite possibly the BEST FIGURES FIGARTI HAS EVER DONE YET! They are miles ahead of thier earlier efforts on the Iwo Jima series................Stryker

Stryker,

Congrats. How about some photos when you have a chance? :)

Cancelled order.....billed me day I placed order, yet item will not be available

Had to call twice to get my refund, apparently credit my card wasn't clear

enough the first time. Heck of a way to do business.....in my opinion.

John,
I'm really surprised and sorry to hear you've had some problems. My own experience with Hobbybunker has been extremely positive. As you might be aware, my situation is a little bit unique when I place International orders. However, I've placed an order with Matt that has received his personal attention and I honestly feel I've had service that amounts to second to none considering my somewhat unusual delivery requirements.
It might possibly be just a simple misunderstanding and perhaps a quick phone call would sort it out double-quick?
Just a suggestion mate.

Regards
Harry

Not sure who you are (not familiar with everyone on this forum). If you have an issue I would love to hear about at matt@hobbybunker.com.

We do charge when order is placed for security reasons. We do not ever see your card. If an item is not going to be in in a timely fashion we notify the customer.

In light of Harry's comments perhaps my experience was the exception not the norm.

I do not like the "we do charge when order is placed for security reasons"

None of the other dealers I use do this, and only a fool would think "security" has anything to do with it.

Of course you can run your business anyway you like, but I would check around and see what the competition is doing.:)

Harry well thats good to hear, and certainly a vote of confidence from you! With your unique travel I can really imagine placing and receiving international orders can be quite tricky.

I'm glad you have had good experiences, you are probably correct mine was probably just a series of miscommunications.:)
