War Along the Nile - Tel-el-Kebir 1882 range. (1 Viewer)

You guys will always be known as "The Redcoats" out of respect.

The new Winter Catalogue was available at last Saturdays London show and so I thought I would share these images for WAN collectors who haven't got their copy yet.

Very nice indeed! {bravo}}

Any Napoleonics, Jeff?

Bill.

Thanks Jeff. That field gun and crew I could come at. Will not need to save for it until later next year when it is released, hope I can still remember that I want one.^&grin, Robin.
Ps which ones interest you?

I hope that Britains will add an Egyptian infantry officer to command a firing line of the standing and kneeling infantry.

Britains' WEB site has been updated for Tel-el-Kebir. Great looking sets!

a lot of these are just 'repaints' of the old blue coated figures, I have notice K & C doing this as well with sets. Is this a new trend in our hobby?

As a dioramist I really do not have a problem with the repainted figures because the poses are universal and if the rest of the uniform is correct I am OK. But I would expect the line to be supplmented with new poses and new units such as the Indians that were part of the British army at Tel-el-Kebir and artillery.

If you are a collector that just collects individual figures I could see that it might not intrest you in adding to your collection. I am glad they made their Egyptains available in single figures instead of having to buy the gunboat to obtain them. Also they seem to have added some new poses to the egyptian range and they could also add the cavalry to the army as well.

As far as repaints go I have seen many companies in the past repaint Gloss figures of the same pose to represent different regiments or different branches of the army represented. So it is an old trick being reintroduced to the collector. As long as it is not overdone I am OK with it.

Not sure they are strictly repaints, looking at the website there appears to be subtle differences.

Hello all,
I would like to point out that the figures appearing in post #22 were one-of-a-kind repaints I did for the silent auction for our Collector's Club evening event in London and are not part of the general release. I posted that picture on our Facebook page with a description before the event.

We hope to add more figures as we did with our Anglo-Zulu War range to fill in gaps and develop the scene we have in mind. I have wanted to visit this action for many years now, and if you compare this release to our initial AZW release years ago, this is a serious start.
This would also be a good place to see some thoughtful suggestions for what you might be interested is seeing to expand the story. A few that I noted are already in the works, but I am sure there are plenty more.

Happy Holidays to everyone, we look forward to the New Year,

Hi Ken,

I would like to take this opportunity to ask you if you have in the works or will have complementary scene dioramas to the recently issued HA2096 - Tel-el-Kebir Earthworks 1882.....As is the current offering is for the middle section of the earth works and the ends are cut clean so very hard to do an all inclusive scenario but just close up pics as the one you have done so as not to expose the ends......:D
I would thank you for a status so that like me more of us can start planning the budget aspects of the new line of proposed fortifications...that as a matter of fact can be used for other historical periods such as WW1 or WW2 depending on the theater of war and time of the year......:cool:

Yes, there will be right and left sections to end this.
I used the same scenic piece to photograph the Travis figure in the catalog so it stood in for a section of Alamo fortifications , so I agree that they could be used for other actions. I tried to consider that some folks might want to keep their vignette small, so this is why I chose to release the center section first.
I hope this helps!
Ken

Hello
I have noticed that the new gun emplacement for the WAN series is on the WBritain Website and appears to be available to buy now. Has anyone seen this piece being sold by U.K. Sellers?

Also has anyone heard if there will be anymore edition to the other battles in the range?

Cheers Paul
