Today, I've seen the movie, good scenes of the Great War{eek3}

This was an interesting WWI movie, great war scenes but I got puzzled when suddenly, apparently from one day at the start of the war to the next one (that's how it looks) German soldiers change their helmets from Pickelhaube to Stalhelm{sm2}... A lot of good feelings and moving scenes but to me not one of Spielberg's best.
Any thoughts?
