I was recently looking up some information on another subject when I came across this article about the ongoing radio communication problems around Arnhem due to a high iron content in the soils there:http://news.scotsman.com/uk.cfm?id=32722006/

I have always wondered who the fool was that stuffed up the British radios used in Operation Market-Garden, I guess that's another myth we can put to bed.

That's interesting. I always assumed that the crystal mix up story was fact.

Time for another epic WWII rehash, sorry, remake, to remedy this historical inaccuracy?

I (attempt to) use portable radio communications everyday for work. It is refreshing to see that after 62 years we still can't get it right.
