Hey guys-
I first heard of this book a couple years ago when my daughter got it for us to read. We had started it but then it got destroyed in our house fire. Now, it looks like Spielberg is tackling it. I am going to pick up another copy this weekend so her and I can read it. I think it looks really good though I am concerned about the subject matter- WW1 and bringing my daughter (age 11)- especially on Christmas day. She has a hard time seeing violence perpetrated towards animals- she understands that it is a WW1 movie but she knows that 100+ years ago, horses were being killed and injured in war. It affects her terribly.
Still, it does look really good- love the scene where the horse charges over the Mother Male!! {sm4} HOOAH!! I just love watching that beautiful animal charge through the battlefield. The narration is excellent too........
