Don't know if anyone has seen this show yet but every Thurs. at 2200hrs on the History channel a show called "Warriors" is on. Its hosted by a former US special forces soldier (I forgot what branch and what specific unit he said he was in). The show breaks down the weapons and armor used and takes an in depth glance at the "warrior" of the battle or war that is the topic for the night. Last Thurs. they focused on the "Spartans" this Thurs. they are shifting to the British and Zulu. Overall the show is pretty good.

I just finished watching this episode, I had it recorded on my DVR. I agree with Sahara it a nice series to watch as it breaks down the weapons and tactics in great detail. The host said the Black soup was good, (Animal Blood, Liver and Barley Flour) I just don't know about that. I already have the DVR set to record next weeks Zulu episode.

i believe he was in the 'green berets'. there's another show that pits warriors of different ages against each other on 'spike' tv, believe its 'best warrior' or something like that.. have had apache indian vs. gladiater, samurai vs. viking, and ninja vs. spartan.

For Direct TV, Spike is on channel 241.

The next episode of "Deadliest Warrior" is on Tuesday at 9:00 pm (CST),
"Pirate vs, Knight". New episodes are every Tuesday.

The Spartan defeated the Ninja.

By the way does any company make Glossy Spartans.

I saw the Spartan vs. Ninja episode for the 1st time and then saw Viking vs. Samurai. I enjoy watching what the weapons of each warrior are capable of but I have questions when it comes to a computer program that can predict who was the better warrior. Such as I wonder why for instance in the Viking vs. Samurai they pit the viking axe against the samurai sword. Why not compare the vikings sword to the samurai sword? wouldn't that be a better comparison? Instead they chose to study each sword and factor it in but never against each other and always against the others mid range weapon.

The next episode of the Deadliest Warrior is
William Wallace vs Shaka Zulu.

This week a Shoalin Monk defeated a Maori Warrior.

Very interesting show, I enjoy seeing the differernt weapons and there effectiveness.

Who won on Viking versus Samauri? I know the Spartan kicked the the Ninja's butt, I saw that one.

I would assume the Apache with his winchester would smoke the Gladiator.

Apache didn't get to use winchester, but they carried a lot of knives. And he

smoked the Gladiator.

According to the simulator.

I bet it would have different in an arena, when the ninja and Spartan fought it was in the woods, I'm assuming the Apache vs Gladiator match took place in a similar setting.

William Wallace defeated Shaka Zulu, I was a little disappointed, but I did not expect a Zulu win, due to the weapons and shield used by Wallace.

Brian,
I think the Claymore put it over the top for the Scot! No chance of defending against that with anything in the king's armory.
The next episode is IRA vs. Taliban:mad: This will take the show down a notch. Two terrorist groups hiding behind bombs and AKs?! Hand to Hand skills both nonexistent. Uncool!

Thats right my man! I would prefer , for example, an Irish stick fighter vs. an Afghan tribal warrior. Not a couple yokels known for sniping and civvie bomb deployment.

Just finish seeing the episode of where the pirate defeats the knight, the overriding conclusion of this episode was that technology was the reason for victory. Technology could have also caused the pirate to be defeated. The battle scene at the end of the program shows the pirate picking up his pistol, which had been lost on the ground while wrestling with the knight, and shooting the knight point blank in the head. The probability of the flintlock pistol being able to fire after being dropped on the ground is highly unlikely. The powder from the pan and possibly the powder in the barrel would have fallen out. I have experienced running with a loaded pistol and more times than not the powder will fall out of the pan. So in most cases like this one his pistol would have just went "click" and he would have been dead.
