The battle that raged in and around Placenoit on the afternoon of June 18th 1815 was some of the most fierce fighting of the Napoleonic era. Back and forth the battle went with the Prussians capturing the village only to be thrown out again several times over. In order to shore up his beleagured right flank, Napoleon first commited Lobau's Corps, then the Young Guard, and finally elements of the Old Guard, such was the importantance that this bulwark hold out. The images below depict the bitter street fighting and show the Old Guard Chasseurs engaged with the Prussian 11th (2nd Silesian) Line Infantry. The Old Guard Chasseurs and Prussians are now available and the buildings and wall set as shown in the images are coming very soon.

Enjoy!

looks brilliant First Commissar. Really depicts close-quarter Napoleonic warfare as I imagine it.
The buildings look very well done too.
Can hardly wait for January.

Oh this really is too much, i need a lottery win but great dio, it really keeps getting better and better. Those buildings look superb.

what a dio.
and the buildings are on my wish list already. :)

wait.. are the buildings 1/30 or 1/32?
did you measure from the base of the house to the roof, or from the floor tile to the roof?

Looks great! I would use the diorama pieces to set up a WWII diorama (Maybe Russians capturing an East German village). How much are the buildings and walls expected to retail for?

Beautiful setup Matt. The buildings will be a great edition for many European battles but look especially nice with these figures.

Agreed with the others Matt. Absolutely gorgeous looking scenes. :)

louis, we had similar idea.

but mine is the germans securing a small russian village :D

Matt-
While I had a feeling these buildings were coming, that doesn't stop me from being totally blown away by these pics. As always, outstanding job! This is just the type of set up I had imagined as soon as you previewed the Prussians a while back.

Now I just have to find more money in the monthly budget.....

Also, happy to see the final two British Guards will ship next week. Can't wait to fill in those remaining spaces in the line.

Beautiful dio. I don't see how a Napoleonic collector could resist this. Those buildings and walls will have many uses. -- lancer

I don't think I have seen anything quite like this before! The attention to detail and quality of finish is first rate to say the least. Two thumbs up! :)

This is amazing work :eek::eek::eek::eek:
It truly is, isn't it.:cool: I know the Prussians were intended for this scene and they have been shown for a while and I have the painting of that scene on my Roy Muir Napoleonic Tactics book but it is still astonishingly well done and freshly impressive to see them deployed like that. Not to mention the nice addition by the Guard Chasseurs.

It is making it very hard for me to keep my focus on the French and British.;)

Thanks guys, glad you like them.

It's interesting with the buildings as they were specifically created for this scene based on the famous painting, however, they were also very much designed with the Western Front WWII enthusiast in mind. The building on the left is mostly intact along it's front side and heavily damaged on it's back (left side in this image). It has a ground floor and 2 upper levels along with a roof. The upper levels and roof all lift off for access so that you can really cram it full of figures. The right hand building has a lift off roof and a lift off upper level and is mostly intact save for a hole blown in the back side of the roof. The wall set comes in 6 pieces and is modular so that the walls can be placed up against the buildings at any point or up against each other. Because of this, there really is just a million ways to set it all up.

Anyway, in addition to their use on various Napoleonic battlefields, I expect the buildings to be very popular with Western Front WWII collectors or late war eastern front collectors. In particular, with the release of all of this British WWII stuff lately by other companies, if it were me, I'd create a Villers-Bocage diorama with them as the buildings and walls would work really well for this based on photos I've seen. Not much use for Stalingrad unfortuntely.

They will pre-order next month sometime and be shipping in mid-late October. We will load the catalog over the next few weeks or so, so you'll be able to see full images and get pricing soon.

Just a quick log-in from my holidays to say WOUW!!!
The Prussians will be added when I am back next week Matt!!!!!
