I don't know if this has been discussed before, but anyone else wish the flags were a bit more wavy? Most of them are near perfectly flat.

I do appreciate the holes in the Confederate flags though. Very nice.

I agree with you..i like the style of the WBritain flags..the 80th regiment flag bearer is a great piece and his flag seems real..

I would assume that they are flat to make the painting of the details a lot easier?

A flag furled back on itself is very time consuming to paint. A flag that is almost flat may not look quite as realistic but is much faster to paint and better detail is possible, plus, then you have a colorful addition for the world to see as was the intention. -- lancer

Lancer speaks the truth-take a look at this one:

OK-a shameless plug-I painted this one.

For a hobbyist, it wasn't too much of a problem to paint inside the folds. But for a factory, to produce this, it'll take more time, which is more cost.

An alternative is to use a printed flag, such as paper, or a decal, which can be laid down over the folds. But you guys might not go for that, as much as for a painted flag. Personally, I prefer painted, it matches the figure better, when they're painted in the same style by the same hand.

Prost!

The John Jenkins figures have a bit of wave in the flag:

That was the one thing I would like in the 83rd PA flagbearer I bought - a bit of wave. It doesn't have to be a lot. I also like it when companies vary the flags. Often it is just not that windy, and if a guy isn't running the flag will just hang. Collectors Showcase is doing this very effectively. The flags blowing in the wind sure do look nice though and add a lot of color.
