This little fellow arrrived at my doorstep last night. I don't know why I waited this long to add him to my collection. He is Wm Britain ACW #17928, released in 2007 and is now retired. He can still be found though with a little bit of searching. He was released with Wm Britain's ACW Valley Series and comes uniformed in a Hardee "Black Hat" that has the sky blue hat cord and also a brass "B" (B company) insignia on it. He is also wearing a Frock coat. He is easily suited for an Iron Brigade scenario.

Here I have him placed with WB #17913 Union Drummer (2007), the offcier from WB #17662 (2007) and the Iron Brigade at the ready infantryman from WB set #31001 (200). Altogether these four nake a nice looking Iron Brigade command group that could be used behind a firing line.

Handsome looking little group of figures you've assembled here Mike. This fellow with the flag appears to be the earlier version of this more recent figure which I like very much also. #17928 is actually still available here at TF and they show several in stock at the moment.

Mike, That was my favorite figure from that year and I made the mistake of giving mine to one of my German relatives as a gift while he was visiting and not replacing it. I really need to replace it.
I designed this figure, and several others in the Valley series to be useful for several different campaigns.
I have been working hard to improve the ACW sculpts, and Richard is working to improve the paint. I think the next few years will be good for Civil War collectors.

That is indeed the updated version. Richard liked the figure too, so after the initial run I modified the figure with an 1861 pattern forage cap. Still a useful figure.
Thanks for your interest!

You're welcome. Now be sure and order your replacement of the original figure from TF while they are still available.

What I like about your sculpting Ken, is the attention to detail that you put in so many of your figures. For example, on this figure, I really like the addition of the bailed "coffee boiler" that is attached to his knap sack - this is easily seen in the third picture.

Ken, could you make a regimental flag bearer to go with the standing US flagbearer? If the the flag is draped like it is on the US flag bearer figures the folds will conceal the regimental number and it can be used for a variety of units. Thanks. I like what you are doing with these guys and am anxiously awaiting the Britains suplemental catalog.

That is on our list... It seems like a natural.
The upcoming supplement will have a few new ACW in it, we are holding many others for the Fall. We plan on making the selection a little more balanced as we favored the Federals the first half.
All the Best!
Ken

I have reserved the dismounted cavalry union figures, released next year union mounted cavalry?, I have to General Custer and three mounted soldiers in action in the new stage the company and ten of the former stage of W. Britains.
