Its a cold (46F) and rainy day here in Wisconsin. Usually this would upset me at this time of year because I enjoy being outside as much as I can. However, today its perffect because it allows me to enjoy my new WB ACW sets I received yesterday. Here are some photos of #31053 Union Stretcher Bearer set. This is a very nicely detailed set, the Zouave is very well painted and has a great facial expression. The stretcher has painted blood on it underneath the wounded figure - it even shows painted blood on the bottom of the stretcher showing how the blood soaked through the canvass. The wounded figure fits onto a pin that is molded onto the stretcher so the figure won't slide off.

After doing some research on Zouave uniforms, I believe the Zouave figure represents a member of the 114th PA Infantry regiment - Ken Osen could verify that since he did the sculpting. Enjoy . . . . . . . . Mike

Another nice looking new set Mike. I'm sort of hoping we will see more 114th PA zoauves in the future. Have fun.

The 114th drilled for it! As Provosts attached to the HQ of the Army of the Potomac, they wear the "dress" turban with the fez in the photo.

Great photo Scott, thank you very much. Its nice to have a photo like this to go with the WB set. I certainly appreciate it.

IF I collected Britains, I'd look at these new Hospital sets.

The photos that the Britains collectors post are really colorful and exciting. The figures show an improvement on Civil War figures in general similar to Conte's figures. I detect the influence of Don Troiani's artwork. I happen to know that he has used reenactors as models (my old unit's members in the Irish Brigade at Fredericksburg) or his collection of gear on posed models.

A question....If one bought two stretcher sets can the figures be changed so that you have two Zouaves and two "Regulars" on a stretcher?

This is another great set and thanks for sharing it MIke. I am waiting for a similar offering for my AZW and if it is half as nice as this one I will be pleased as punch. Can I ask was it actually 4 seperate pieces? Hopefully yes and they do the same with the AZW one giving us more "play factor" :D

Short answer Scott - No. The figures are sculpted in a front and rear carrying position. Now that doesn't mean you couldn't do it - I just don't think it would look right.

Yes Scott - four separate pieces, two stretcher bears, one stretcher, one wounded figure.

Fabulous. Mine is supposed to come any day. I really can't wait now. Something to go with the ambulance.
