Wow--2010 will be awesome

From Ken Osen

Hi All!
Just an update...

Richard and I are nailing down just what our first release will be for the 'War along the Nile' series. Plan on seeing news in the January catalog. It looks like it will be a good year for collectors.
Be good and be patient!
Ken

This is just the news I have been canvassing, and waiting, for most of this year, so a big thank you to all at WBritains for listening. Can’t wait to see some photos of the upcoming range. :):)

Hinted enough Jeff that Britain wouldn't let you down :D:D:D and hope it won't have any effect of the plans and deliveries of what's in the works for the Zulu War Series.

Man,2010 is going to be a rough year for collecting.:):D:D:D:D:D:D

Good news.

Does anyone know if this series will be gloss or matte?

Hi Raymond, I agree with your :(. Having said that, we'll save lots of money which we can spend elsewhere :).

Very exciting news indeed! There has been a great deal of anticipation over this one to say the least. Might be a loooooooong wait until Jan or Feb. Thanks for the heads up. :)

I was hoping for gloss like the camel corp figures and some Redcoats. I would sure prefer gloss figures. John

Matte for me.Their have been gloss Sudan ranges before.Give us matte guys a chance.:):)

I am already collecting the glossy version of "War Along the Nile" via the Redcoats line and will continue to do so and hope others will support this. Since both of the Victoria Cross series and the gloss Zulu War ended prematurely, I think the Redcoat release system is the safest and we have already seen how that and the Ceremonial series will give a nice boost to the Zulu gloss. So guys the more you buy Sudan related figures done in gloss by WB hopefully the more they make. Remember our wallets speak volumes when it comes time for a manufacturer to plan future releases.

Quite frankly, I have given up on collecting the "new Britains"..I sincerely tried to collect their F.I.W. series, but their slow motion way of producing figures and getting them to market, finally gave me just cause to sell off what I had..When I want to collect a line, I want complete sets, not a single figure every 6 months, maybe..Michael

If it is matte I would guess releases would be more like the matte Zulu, but we'll probably have to wait until January to see.

This would be my hope and assumption as well, Randy. Honestly the AZW matte release schedule seems almost ideal, as reasonable amounts are added quarterly or so. Very much looking forward to this one (I know I've already said that).

I too am looking forward to this series and the JJ version.

W Britain and John Jenkins Sudan figure compatibility

Matte JJD vs WB

Fraser Highlander (JJD) and 24th Foot (WB)

If WB makes the Sudan in matte and the same size as the matte Zulu range they should work together.

Thanks for the comparisons, Randy. These are a lot more compatible size-wise then I remembered them being.
