Hi Floks,

Are there any club members here that made it to the club event last night? How about some photos and discussion of what went on and anything interesting that was on display.

Thanks

Dave

Guys,

I decided to move this thread to this section since no one has even replied to it on the show section. Do we have any WBritains Collectors Club members here who attended this sold out event??? It would be great to hear about it.

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave, I was there but not much to tell really, there wasn't anything new on display that hasn't been shown before, & my camera's broken so I didn't get to take photos sorry :(

Richard did a short talk about the company, he mentioned the they used 3 factorys this year 2 were perfect 1 not so much that's why there's been a few delays again this year! He also mentioned that they are planning on hitting the cheaper end of the market in the coming year I believe he was refering to expanding the Ceremonial line & trying to get it back into the tourist shops & Royal Palaces like in the old days! He also mentioned that they had the Queens Jubilee coming up & will be tying things in with that. After that we had a very interesting talk from Ian Knight about the Zulu Wars.

That's all I can remember really hopefully someone else who went can fill in more info for you? I'm sure there was people who took photos, so maybe we will get some posted.

Craig

Thanks Craig,

I was sorry to have missed this show and event. But the choice of London for a weekend of Skiing with the family in Austria for Christmas was a no brainer. Maybe I will be able to hit the show next year. Fingers crossed! Did you manage to find anything of interest at the show?

Dave

Hopefully you can make it next time, its is a great night just for the company! I managed to get a few Redcoats I needed, couple of K&C sets & 5 more glossy sets from British Toy Soldier Co.! All great stuff I'm glad I picked up! But the best find had to be the Argyll & Sutherland Highlander figure Britains made back in 1985 for the James Opie show! I was able to get it for £25 so a very happy chappy :) now I just need the officer to go with him!

Hi Craig,

Sound slike some very good finds. What era are the Glossy sets? I am always looking for Crimean War and a few other eras and would love to find a new (to me anyway) maker to add to my display. Hope you get the camera fixed so we can see some photos of the loot.

They were good finds! I'm happy anyway :D the era's that BTSC do are early 20th Century Ceremonials, WW1 & as of the show they now do glossy WW2! Sorry no Crimean but still good stuff!
