Re: Napoleonic K&c Promo Figures

Sorry...no it doesn't belong in this section...but unfortunitly it worked out that way...If Brad could put this one under Historical conversation with a new thread perhaps it would be better served....

Tried to:(. Is this avaible on DVD for retail purchase? I'm a big Wellington fan and have a ton of biographies on him and books on his campaigns but have never found a really good documentary on him. I guess he tends to be overshadowed by Nelson.

Great show! The filming at Salamanca was brilliant. You really get a feel for how Marmont got strung out moving along that plain. This is the kind of history channel stuff we need more of. Really interesting part where that old animated guy knew were the meeting between Wellington and General Cuesta took place. Really entertaining show, broke out my Julian Paget book to kind of follow along:cool:. Thanks for posting the links.:)

Wellington

I just finished the entire program - I have been fighting a cold for couple of days - so it took a while.

I really enjoyed it - What a great career and interesting background on the great man. Everyone should take the time to watch this program - it was wonderful. I also like that narrator - I have seen him in a few other productions - very british :p

Thanks for posting it - thats was a great pleasure.

Ron did you see the cannon balls, grape shot, pieces of cannon and cannon all over the gorund, the villagers just treat the stuff like junk and I suppose it is to them...they should start collecting it and selling it to tourists or something.....I'm be collecting it all and bring it home with me...unreal....

Yea - I was thinking the same thing ..... I would be known as the Crazy America who pays for this junk metal ! :D

I would be sitting under a big umbrella and paying the small coin to the boys digging for me in the fields - wait that kinda would make a British Governor wouldn't it :D

Truthfully can you imagine going to this place and bringing a metal detector...guaranteed it would pay for your trip and more!!!! If it wasn't such a ridiculous distance I would..

Its the same for us WW2 guys who visit the Somme or Ypres,so much to find but soooooo against the law now.The French are really cracking down on this, they even confiscate your car these days!!!

Rob

Thats why you have the LADS do it for you ;)

The authorities can go ahead and take them away - Ah...Capitalism :D

(I am starting to sound like WELLINGTON - the real one )

I think that was the point if you watch the video they treat the stuff like junk....I don't think there are any laws pertaining to it...in fact it almost looks like they view it as junk...You are very right though it is against the laws in some areas...
