just a query on the shoulder patch .....

I can't find any reference to a rectangular dark blue over light blue for any infantry battalion.

The closest if black over light blue for the 9th Battalion AIF.

Going by Bean's color chart (vol 3), could the patch be 1st Division, 3rd Brigade, 10th Battalion (purple over light blue)? -- Al

I'm have to ask Bruce, I believe he sort advice from a fellow member, as his specialty is WW2 and mine is British ! Any pointers to good reference would be welcome.

This is my fault! as the member that Bruce sort advise from, he asked what was my preference for a AIF unit and I replied the 9th Battalion but I now realise that I incorrectly advised him that the patch was dark blue over light blue when it should be black over light as Obee has pointed out. Below is the patch I referenced which is in fact the patch of the 10th Battalion. Bruce and Martin my sincere apology, I shall put on a dunces hat and go sit in a corner..:redface2:{sm2}
