Well, if you ever start having lower back pains that are constant get it looked at immediately, over the last few weeks had a sharp pain in my lower right side....had to get blood work, doc visit done...long story short....landed in the E.R.with a kidney stone, it was very small, can't believe something that small can cause so much misery!!!!! 2.5 days in the hospital was ample time to realize that no more sodium, potassium in my diet!!!!!

I know those are painful. Hope it passed. I hear they use sonic shock waves nowadays to break them up and make them pass.

Hope you're feeling better Sammy. Had that problem about 20 years or so ago and all I remember was it hurt, big time. Hang in there, my friend. -- Al

Sammy wife had the same problem last month mate , her is 4mm in size and had a week in hospital , she taken medication to get rid of it the natural way but was in a lot of pain with it Sunday

I described my kidney stone pain as "an elephant wearing high heels stepping on my back!"

Sammy,

When I was a kid my mom had an attack of the kidney stones though we, nor she knew it. When we were taking her to the hospital I thought she was dying. It was awful and she was out of commission for a long time. When the doc said she had kidney stones, my young brain actually thought she had rocks in her body. I mean she did, but I thought they were like rock, rocks.

I've been drinking copious amount of water since.

Get better Sammy!

….similar problem with gal bladder stones, cannot pass those and required surgery after two days of excruciating pain :( Would not wish it on anyone...

Went through the kidney stone thing myself last month, never in my life had such pain! {sm2} Ended up in hospital and had to have a shot of Morphine which worked a treat until it wore off :rolleyes2: They then sent me home with some 'Endone' which didn't do much good so back to hospital again, pain getting more intense :( This time a young Turk of a Doctor, didn't look like he even started shaving yet, prescribed some drug with an unpronounceable name which he tells me will relax the tubes which the stone passes via, thus making things less painful. Got to say it worked and so my faith in very youthful appearing Doctors is now profound! :wink2:

Thanks all for the kind words, and looks like I'm not the only unlucky dude....hmmm...Dam toy soldiers, must be a connection with them and kidney stones!!!! :)

I had one a couple years back. Excruciating pain. Like someone was twisting a knife in my lower back. I was amazed that the treatment was basically to tough it out until it passed. They gave me some pain pills but I couldn't sit or lay down because the pain was so bad. The only thing I could do was pace the floor. Back and forth for hours. It took mine about 5 days to pass.

Waynepoo,

The Doc who did my septum surgery looked my son...I was nervous going in...he did a bang up job and I can breathe like the wind.

Hey Sam, I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you'll be up and about real soon.

P.S. it was a good thing that I didn't come your way earlier this week huh!

Thanks Thomas!!! Well if you had you may have been my nurse!!!! Look forward to seeing more photos once you get home.

Sammy:

Get well soon!

The wife gets them constantly from too much protein powder. She knows the cause but keeps doing the same thing. She is two things if nothing else, tough and vain.
