What do you think of adding a "Welcome New Members" subforum, a place where new members can make an initial post to say hello and to say something about themselves, their interests or likes in the hobby, and so forth? It could be pinned to the top of the index page to make it as prominent as possible, with additional text added in the registration page, to recommend (strongly) to the new member to go there and make a post.

Other forums I belong to have such a forum-FineScale Modeler, for example, and PlanetFigure or the Figure-Mad Forum.

I think it'd be nice, especially since we seem to have new people joining at a rate of about one new person every couple of days. And I don't know how many of us power users (ie, those of us who are on all the time, posting) get to see a new member, unless he starts off with a post in one of the more specific forums.

And I'm going to feel really stupid if we have such a forum already. But I looked to make sure and didn't see one.

Prost!

Brad, there's this under the Discussion thread: Forum: New Member Introductions and Welcome. It's on the Treefrog Chat Lounge.

Ha! Thanks, Chris! That's why I didn't see it, it's a level further down. For that matter, then, I'd pin it to the top of the forum, or at least move it out from under the chat lounge, to the same level.

OK, then, as Emily Litella used to say, "Never mind!"

Prost!
