Based on many conversations with collectors and dealers.....

WWI: A truly great series but need Germans, including their transport and artillery. French in action and artillery. British and French foreign troops.

FIW: Roger's Rangers in action, Indians for camp scenes and more French Canadians in action.

Jacobite Rebellion: Cavalry, artillery, more Jacobites in action and casualties.

Napoleon's Spanish campaign: French in action, French Dragoons and Gendarmes, Spanish regulars and guerrillas in action. French supply wagon and caisson.

SYW/Leuthen: Austrian officers, drummer and flag bearer. Prussian drummers and flag bearers. Prussians line troops marching and firing, artillery.

Wars of the Roses: although new there is much interest in mounted knights, pennants and fighting knights in full armor.

Please add to this survey.

Good idea for a thread.

As a FIW collector, I'd like to see more Canadian Militia, French officers, some Jesuit priests, more of the 60th Royal Americans.

Mark

I collect their Peninsular War series, so I'd like to see French infantry in action, artillery, and cavalry. For the allies, I'd like to see some British line infantry, some more Portuguese line infantry, and Spanish line infantry.
Cheers,
Brendan

I wouldn't mind a re-visit to the St. Francis Rangers one bit...

or for that matter...

a few new Snow Shoes sets...^&grin...
but honestly don't believe John will go there again...

I don't think I will ever sell my Snow Shoes...

I love those guys running through the snow with tennis rackets on their feet...^&grin...
such a unique range...

developing Germans...
I personally don't think I would collect the WWI German series...

especially if they were sculpted in action/fighting poses...
and it seems logical that he would do them in action poses to round out the series...

I collect the WWI Poulis and just don't see how I could put them together on the same table...
as all the French are in non-combatant poses...

but I hope John continues to expand the injured...
walking...
and campfire Poulis...

in my opinion they are his best work to date and I enjoy them thoroughly...

Not to sound like a broken record but more "female" Indians and Indian camp life sets. Please no more fighting, shooting, attacking and such.
Also, I have been hoping for at least a few British officers for the 1812 series.

I have heard that ... "All good things come to those who wait." So that means I should have a lot of good things coming up this fall and winter!{sm4}

Larry...the rubber band man...

you are so right about fighting...shooting...attacking Indians...

we asked for more and John delivered...

I welcome some campfire Indians...

now if I only had a couple of 3 really nice homemade wigwams mailed to me...^&grin

Hi,
Reality check....Just remember JJD is one man. There is only so much he can sculpt, paint and get manufactured. I believe he is spending half the week in China at the moment visiting factories etc, he doesn't have an army of production managers, personal assistants etc etc. There are only seven days in a week, twenty four hours in a day.

I'm happy to take and appreciate whatever he decides to bring to market.

Pete...

you're right...

the hardest working man in show biz...

I think he has dinner plans with his wife tonight...

I've collected a lot of his WW I items since he first started issuing (although only a few of the planes) and for me (and me only), I actually think there is too much product coming to market (not to mention product of other companies) so much so that I've had to stop because room has become a factor and am only picking up very few selective releases and taking a wait and see attitude (although I have reserved space for the German tank).

I'm quite content with what he produces and would be even more so if he slowed down in that front, although that's not probably realistic.

I just received, as a gift from Clive, the figure of the youngest VC winner.

Napoleon's Spanish campaign: French in action, French Dragoons and Gendarmes, Spanish regulars and guerrillas in action. French supply wagon and caisson.

SYW/Leuthen: Austrian officers, drummer and flag bearer. Prussian drummers and flag bearers. Prussians line troops marching and firing, artillery.

These are the 2 ranges I'm collecting from John, but there is one thing I REALLY want and that's the lead horse and the driver for the Larrey Ambulance. This will then complete that set.

I'd then like a couple French Infantry casualties, and medics and doctors to complete a nice diorama that would fit in with my marching column of Infantry from that period.

Yes, Flags and drums from Leuthen would be most fitting but that all for that particular battle, because I don't have any more room to display them on that shelf, now its got the full set of figures released.

I would like to see John do more buildings...

the European theater style buildings/structures...

the kind that are virtually timeless in design...

the kind that can work from the 17th century to present day...

French...Italian...German...Mediterranean...Spanish...etc...

something that will work with a lot of series...

stuff that would blend with his Great War...Peninsular War...Knights of the Sky...even something indigenous to his 7 Year War series...etc...

versatile buildings that were built 100's of years ago and still standing...

I think there has been a huge shift in this hobby in creating shelf dioramas with props to accent and display the figures...

I would buy these...

something like these he did...

you could go down a farm road in Spain today and this 300 year old building might still be standing...

something versatile for more than one series...

I'm hoping that Jenkins will stick with its KotS range. To that end, I'd like to see more French and USA subjects. I have no way of knowing what the actual plans are, but I'm hoping that this will come to pass as we approach the 1916-18 centennials. Also, I'd like to see two to four GGC sets that mimic the activity of the BGC "chocks away" figures. Oh, and for goodness sake, John, we still need a Werner Voss triplane!

When the second batch of BM figures was released, no officers were included. Outside the very rare BM-03 set, there is a near absence of regular officers beyond the flag ensigns and the Halkett wounded/dying set. A few "club" or "club-like" figures to complete Monongahela would be very welcomed, notably Lt. Colonel Thomas Gage of the 44th --- British commander in Boston at the beginning of the American Revolution. Two new 44th officers would be ideal. A figure for Sir John St. Clair, Deputy Quarter Master General, would be equally welcomed.

Sergeants and corporals for the British 35th marching sets. We have most of the elements needed for a complete marching column, with the notable exception of the lack of NCOs.

also...

I wouldn't mind a few sets of villagers for Old Yangshuo...

maybe some fishermen with a net...carry baskets...idle or walking figures...sitting...etc...

a couple of village children...

a woman or two...

a basket of rice...fish...vegetables...etc...

I like these peaceful sets...

I just bought some bamboo hooches in Chicago...

4-5 more sets or so...

something to go with the two sets he made already...

Bearing in mind what has been said about John being a one man band,I think what most collectors would want is a continuation of figures for the series into which they have already invested. As his number of ranges increases, then we must learn to wait until he adds, slowly, to each range(not a bad thing from a financial point of view). For my part,my main range is Culloden,so I would like more dragoons, casualties and some fleeing Scots for the dragoons to chase. Some personalities e.g.Prince Charles,Lord George Murry,Lord Bury etc.would be nice also.

Agree fully Mike. The French are some of John's best ever figures in my opinion. Of all the current manufacturers, he is the one winning my spending money currently, and consistently!

Malcolm.

like many others my main interest is in the FIW, so I make some wishes (with pictures).
60th Royal American artillery, drummer, flag etc, a new Blockhouse with stockade, French and British civilians, naval cannon for garrison, Quebec St Louis Gate walls and a supply wagon with horses.... too much???
Cheers
Carlo
