I was just wondering what everyone bought. I was able to get a K&C 88 so that was an unexpected surprise. I caved on the Crusaders after seeing the display and bought a barzo piece of Tripoli scenic to display them with since Andy doesn't have their castle ready yet. I also got the Figarti Lewis and Clark sets, Frontlines new French flag bearer and command sets, and John Jenkin's new releases. Everybody came out with great stuff and I'm already trying to budget for the year . Maybe if nobody releases anything for the rest of the year I'll be able to catch up:D

I got the Barzo sets, TSSD set, NMA scwimmwagon, sturmtiger and HB inf. set. and bergpanther.
Plus several ONTC & Britain WW2 sets, plus numerous form tech type pieces.
Speaking of which, later on check TSSD,s web site as they will be carrying a new line of bunkers etc, the best I have seen, although they will have to be painted.
Don,t worry Andy, I have my K&C sets ordered from my dealer to arrive this week after I got home.

I wasn't there, but this is what I probably will buy from the new releases:

HB: winter field kitchen and soviet panther
KC: Hummel and Vichy French
Figarti: a maybe on the Tiger depending on how small it is
NMA: sturmtiger

I bought some TSSD figures, diorama pieces, and several K&C retired pieces. I checked out all the new stuff and made my list so I can order online instead of stuffing it in my suitcase.

Out of everything on my want list I only bought one thing and now my want list is about another page long:D This stuff on-line is hard to resist but when I can actually see and hold it I'm doomed.

I had wanted to order the NMA Sturmtiger but after reading Louis' comment about the missing crane for the armament/shells, etc. I too might have to pass!

Well I picked up the British Sherman and I too broke down and bought three sets of the Crusaders...which I will admit is the FIRST non-WWII sets I have ever bought....oh boy...here we go again!

I picked up a few of KNC new Crusaders, KNC retired German Mounted Calvary trooper, KNC retired Pontoon Bridge, JG Miniatures D Day bunker walls, John Jenkins FOUR sets of the new releases , a Sarum Toy Soldier Cowboy set, TSSD Painted Plastic Marines and Japs. A a few other things. I managed to get it all home safely in my suitcase as a carry one :)

From Frontline Figures Indian Wars line I bought 3 sets of the French Roussillon Regt. and the attacking Indians. I also got both Napoleonic Wars Retreat to Corunna sets. Sets 5 thru 8 of the Ancient Warriors line. Also, the CSA 3rd Regt color party set. I also got the Dragon 1/72 Hornisse, Stug IV (2 versions), a Jagdpanzer IV L/38 and a L/70, a T34/76, M4 Sherman, and a Hanomag 241. Finally, a FOV 1/32 Hanomag 241 and a SdKfz 7 Quad 20mm AA. I didn't find any of the Boxer Rebellion sets I was looking for.

I got the new sets of SD plastic figures, Conte figures, some older matte Rev War stuff from Britains. K&C winter Germans and plenty of scenery stuff from Build a Rama and others. No big playsets. Some Barzo buildings and walls. Also an Honor Bound T-Shirt to impress neighbors:D I enjoyed seeing many new products and my list gets longer. Leadmen

The K&C Saracen/Crusader Fortress, a one of a kind K&C prototype 8th Army M7 (both from Andy), the entire K&C Crusader series to date (Matt Murphy), three K&C wood Warbirds (Ford Tri-Motor, Soviet Sturmovic Tank Buster [both from the Nevilles] & early production Curtis P40 Hawk [from Bob Fisher]), glossy Streets of Hong Kong Governor & Flag set, a 1988 production K&C glossy dead Zulu, some early 1984 Seaforth Highlanders (a gift from Steven Chong [thank you again!), an authentic 1808 Napoleonic Era Sword Bayonet for a Baker Rifle (from Bill Hurlbutt), a replica of a Napoleonic Sapper or Pioneer Officers sword and, as a gift from Andy, three proofs of 1994-1995 production glossy Napoleonics (Wellington and 2 mounted Cuirassiers) [thanks again Andy!]. I also ordered 2 of the new Figarti Tigers [from our gracious hosts here at the forum].

Wow to say I'm glad I didnt make it to the show would be an understatement. It would have broken the bank.

I did however pick up some great items during that time period also:

3 of the New Zealand sets from Imperial, a great set from Errol John called Christmas in the Khyber (which will be a diorama quite soon) and I am waiting for a dismounted Winged Hussar to show up from a Russian work Shop in St Petersburg.

Please post some photos when you guys get a chance especially the seige tower which sounds really massive!

All the best

Dave

Louis I seem to remember that a few weeks ago you posted that you would not be purchasing the K&C Crusaders because of space issues on the second floor of your apartment. I know we all can weaken at a toy soldier show but I am concerned for you. So in the spirit of helping you out I will take the castle of your hand for you for free and even pay shipping to my place. I would hate for you to run out of room at your museum. Let me know when I should have UPS come to your door.

Well I was not at the show but what I am buying for sure is the limited edition Sherman with new and improved tracks. The Napoleonic K&C soldiers will also be finding a home this year and yes I will be buying a siege tower with some crudsaders to go with it. The only item I am debating is do I want to purchase a certain tank that can come apart. The concept is so cool but the money is limited. We shall see.

Excepting all donations to the Old Guard toy soldier fund.

While I certainly appreciate your generosity, if you re-read those old posts you will see that I said despite me space limitations, I was going to buy the Crusaders. I can't tell you how cool the Castle looks, and how much I am looking forward to the release of the Saracens, Catapult set and additional Crusadrers. Plus when the wood prototype of the Siege Tower (which I purchased with the Fortress) I will have quite an exciting diorama on my hands.

Well since you won't send it to me let me ask one favor of you. Once you have the diorama all set up post some picuters on the forum or email them to me. That way I at least can dream.

Thanks,
Old Guard
