At the moment I am only collecting WWII(which we all know is the best on the market right Wayne? :)) in my first few months with First legion, but the Civil War looks very nice, and may have to look at that line later, but if a mid-evil, knights/sacs/ line were to come out at some point I would be 100% collecting that line,...Sammy

Sammy ,
I'm currently collecting the Napoleonic line , I'm also adding a figure from the Stalingrad line with each order when possible .
I think I'm safe in being able to resist the American Revolution and Samurai lines , they are both very nice but I just don't collect the periods . The Civil War will be harder for me to resist , I'm most certain I will be Cherry picking that line . The upcoming line  .....I will just have to see what it is. If it were Rome and her enemies , The Crusades , WWI , the Franco Prussian War , or The Seven Years War , I will be in big trouble  . I don't think I could resist any of these periods getting the First Legion treatment and would be all in . All the Best Gebhard

I have been cherry picking the Napoleonic line for a while to get representative examples of the different regiments - usually a flag bearer, drummer, sapper, officer and a few line infantry. Now it looks like I will be doing the same for AWI. I'd love to do the same for ACW, but that is just too much to handle.

I had a few Napoleonic items, the French Artillery Set, mounted personalities and some single figures of French and Bavarians.
Then I sold them all since the "Napoleonic" subject is simply way too large and involves many, many troops, which is just not affordable for me.
Now since the AWI line is announced I have plans to pick a small group out of each release, i.e. I will be getting 5 to 7 of the Minutemen and then a few figures of the first British releases and so on. If there is enough time between releases of new groups I will just add another one or two of the already released ones. I am going for 2 to 3 foot figures per month or maybe one mounted and one foot figures, something like that.
At the end I hope to have a collection of various vignettes, dioramas that represent many different groups of the fighting men involved in the Revolutionary War.

Konrad-
This is completly sums up my situation as well. I too had been collecting the best Napoleonic figures, but now have dedicated my toy soldier budget entirely to the AWI line. I think with the slower schedule of AWI releases, it should be easier to stay 'on top' of the new items. Can't wait for the first Continental Regiments!

I think the switch from Napoleonics to AWI was two-fold. First, I have a lot more interest in and knowledge of the AWI. Secondly, with the Napoleonic Era being so extensive, it is easier in my mind to represent the AWI with a smaller budget.

Hi Noah,
I am really looking forward to see how this line will develop and just got back from the FL website where I placed my order for the first 3 figures :)
It will be a great pleasure to share the collecting of this line with fellow forum members here.

You all know by this time what I collect. Waterloo is fine but the more I can use in the Peninsula the better.;):D I would be in some trouble with a Roman line and certain medieval ones and I am not sure how long I can resist the AWI. We will just have to wait and see.:cool:

It's Napoleonics for me, some of the Waterloo figures. In the future who know what will come up...

If you want to get rid of your Napoleonic figures, let me know !!! :D

I only collect Naps for now and my plan is to have something like 3-5 guys of each regiment FL will make. I'm now waiting for the Highlanders to be ready to ship to place my next order.. that flag bearer looks awesome and I will order the 'fat' guy at the same time that's for sure...

I was wondering what happened to the french cuirassiers ? After reading many past posts, it looks like they were not maybe up to par with the rest of FL offering ??

Finally, I must say that I'm also waiting for the new range and the samurais are also very tempting... Maybe I'll grab 2 or 3 of those with my next order.

Cheers

Alex

I collect FL Napoleonics only. These are the best Naps I have seen in 35 years of collecting, better than the Russian figures. Gritty, realistic, multiple poses.

Hate to disagree but if they are British or French Napoleonics, let me know first.;):D

I think the Cuirassiers are definitely up to par with the rest of the offerings and that we will see them sooner than later. I also think they will prove well worth the wait.;)

The Cuirassiers are just fine and well. We figured to put some time between the release of the Carabiniers and the release of the Cuirassiers. We did the Carabiniers first because no one had done them yet really. Cuirassiers will be coming later this year...

As always, I am late for the party. I just Got my First Legion Figure Tuesday. It was the British Napoleonic Standard Bearer (Nap0095), And It was Gorgeous. And I am definitely going be to buying more.
Not just because it looks great, But also because Of the customer service that is the Best of the best, I had a Problem with my Order that UPS (it was shipped Thursday), For some reason did not/ or forgot to track it, Until it arrived In Oakland California (Tuesday).
I emailed Matt around 11 p.m. Friday, that there was a problem with UPS.
2 hours later 1 am, my time. I got an answer. Monday He emailed me,And got assured that if UPS did Lose it, He will Send me another figure. No later than the day I expected it. So How great is That?? So Great that If I want any period that they make. That, I will order from them first ( I know everyone knows this, but on the British Napoleonic side, There are 19 different figures, with different faces/or poses). Again how great is that.
Anyway, I am glad I found and tried them. WOO HOO THANK YOU MATT!! :D

Excellent customer service matched with unbelievable quality at the right price is what brought me to FL in the first place. Since I'm thousands of miles away from their warehouse, Matt has assured me that he will take care of any damages that might happen in shipping ... and he did !

So now that I have the piece of mind, I can enjoy surfing on their website looking to assemble my next order !!!

Cheers,

Alex

WWII Stalingrad:)....VERY SATISFIED....with the products being produced ; and excellent service....No offense to anyone but to me First Legion has the best product out there for WWII...Their new lines especially "The American Revolution Minuteman Series" is something I definitely want to get into as soon as I can allocate resources....hopefully next month.....I would not hestiate to highly recommend First Legion.

First Legion hit bullseye for me with Waterloo. I have limited my overall toy soldier collection to just a few themes, and Waterloo is one of them. I don't build dioramas or large formations (having neither the room nor the budget for either), but prefer to collect representative units and uniforms (so for example, from the Prussians, I plan to collect an officer, drummer, standard bearer and single infantryman).

I don't collect Borodino, so haven't picked up any of those figures (but may grab one or two representative figs, they are so nice.)

I don't collect the Eastern Front or any German WWII figures, so that line hasn't attracted me.

I collect ACW -- with a concentration on (but not exclusively) Gettysburg, so the upcoming ASW line is appealing. I might even pick up one of the Spencer armed cavalrymen, even though the weapon is not accurate for Gettysburg (I notice that K&C appears to have made the same mistake in their Buford's Cavalry series).

I also collect both the US Armed Forces and British Armed Forces, throughout their histories -- again representative figures, and have my first American Revolution figure on preorder.

Otherwise my collection is single figures that happen to catch my eye -- so may get one Samurai.

Welcome to your first post on the First Legion threads ;) I would highly recommend the Prussians..... IMO they are the Finest release thus far from First Legion . I would also recommend any of the figures from the Borodino line because as you know nobody else is doing most of these units and you can use them to represent several other battles from the period in which these units were present . Hope you make some more post . Happy collecting Gebhard

Gebhard, You like the Prussians! I didn't know that.:D
I collect the Napoleonic line also. Usually the Colors, Drummer (Piper for the 92nd) and one or two infantrymen. I have collected the artillery and one each of the mounted figures. All of the releases are excellent.

Whats up ,
Didn't know if you noticed or not but the French Artillery set is now sold out , That is gonna be really hard to get a hold of and worth a ton on the secondary market . Speaking of Prussians , I would love some Cav , Staff and or Artillery :D Yea I know I'm a broken record but they are IMO just that good . And you are 100% correct in saying all of the releases are excellent . Alles gute Gebhard
