What do you collect of First legion?? (1 Viewer)

Yes, so many great releases. I have found that the quality of First Legion is tempting me to get into other periods. Usually, with most other companies, I can easily overlook new stuff if it is not my 'favorite' subject, the AWI. However, with First Legion, I can't just breeze on by new releases. When new preorders are announced, I start to think about how cool it would be to branch out and try something new.

For example, I don't know squat about the Samurai and thier history. Nor can I really afford to do a second figure line. But I still feel compelled to look into to it, prompted only by FL's quality figures. That certainly doesn't happen with other companies...

My first order with FL was for few AMAZING Germans and Soviets from "Stalingrad"

I have the entire Napoleonic British Guard along with the British artillery set, Lord Uxbridge and the Prince of Orange. I also, have one Carabineers, the flagbearer, so far. I will probably get all the Carabineers eventually over a period of time. Particularly, waiting for Wellington to get released... The samurai range looks interesting and I will probably cave-in and get a select number of these at a snails pace, so I hope they don't get retired quickly... I'm hearing that a new range announcement is coming soon and I am anxious to find out what it is, so I am holding off on most purchases until I found out what it is... The American Revolution range is hard to resist, but I am being very good about holding off on that one...

Alot of tempting figures so far but money has been tight, so I'll be starting with the upcoming American Civil War series and try to focus on that. Looking forward to the first release.

Welcome to your first post on the First Legion threads I would highly recommend the Prussians..... IMO they are the Finest release thus far from First Legion . I would also recommend any of the figures from the Borodino line because as you know nobody else is doing most of these units and you can use them to represent several other battles from the period in which these units were present . Not to put to fine a point on it but you can say the same for Waterloo really. Many others may put something out for that battle but none really compare to these. Besides, you can use those figures for many other battles as well. I still love the British Guards the best but no doubt there are many quality choices for whatever countries you favor. Actually at this point I have more French Chasseurs than anything else but UK reinforcements are certainly on the horizon.

When we gonna see some updated photo's of your Fantastic Peninsula Diorama ? I'm sure its looking very nice . I would say again and have said many many times IMO First Legions Napoleonic line is the best I have ever seen no matter what battle you prefer . I love them both and I'm dying to see in what direction this line will move in the future Gebhard

As are we all. I am still in the hunter/gather mode but I hope to put something new together before too long. I need some more French line and I would like to have some Rifles first.

With all those fine pieces your collecting if you ever start running out of room for those select Napoleonics , I would be interested in helping you make some room and also find them a new Happy home Just wanted to put that offer out there before Bill gets the jump on me I'm really gonna have a hard time trying to stay focussed with all these new releases coming out , The ACW looks KILLER , I would be interested in seeing your Samurai display . Well Steve if you do decide to relocate any FL Napoleonics, maybe you could allocate the French and British to me and the rest to my mate Gebhard or if that fails, put them up for auction between the two of us.
