Hey everyone-

Sorry if this has already been discussed but I was curious what happened with the SF- Iraq and Afghanistan series?? I love those figs personally. I was hoping like heck that they would have done an Abrams or Bradley or something like that- we got that the hummer- and that T76.

I dunno, just sorry to see the line get cancelled. An SF trooper on camelback would have been fun too.

Hi Guys,

In answer to “Currahee Chris” question on the above.

Alas, Iraq and Afghanistan soldiers are about as popular as...well the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.

To be honest, they sold very well for a couple of years which is also why I think my old friends Figarti also jumped into that “area of operations”. However they have definitely slowed down. Which is a pity because I think what K&C and Figarti did was both very different and original. They remain one of my personal favourites.

Oh well...c’est la guerre!

Chris,
I too enjoyed the SF series. While visiting London in circa 2001-2002, I saw a K&C advertisement announcing the launch of the SF series on the last page of a UK based toy soldier magazine. Later that day, I borrowed a friend's cell phone and telephoned the Neville's and placed an order for the series. It was my first K&C purchase.

My friends in uniform love the SF figures (particularly the HUMVEE and the Usama Bin Ladin figure). The SF figures also make an excellent gift for men and women in uniform fighting the GWOT.

As a boy, my parents generously provided me with Britains Deetail figures for my birthday, Christmas, and on other special occasions. I still have the Britains soldiers to this day. The SF figures produced by K&C lead me to transition from Britains Deetail to K&C.

I cherish all toy soldiers, but the SF series produced by K&C will always be special - thanks K&C.

I couldn't agree more. I am very proud that I was able to give a duplicate I had of the Humvee set to our friend Ed (Halomeeps) a green beret who was serving in Afghanistan at the time of the release, and didn't get a chance to purchase the set before it was retired. I also wish Andy would revisit this series, as well as Vietnam.

I'm another fan of the SF series. Just out of curiosity, has anyone seen an SF03 set out there? Anywhere? I've seen nothing ebay wise. :(

Thank you Andy for your response- just know this, if you ever decide to go with some more figures for those sets, we will support it. You have a very dedicated fanbase with us!! There is a reason we collect your stuff- it is the best!! We don't want other stuff, we want KC

But alas, no one said decisions in business are easy.......

I have SF03- I think I got it in 2002 or 03. I agree though, I haven't seen it anywhere else either.
