I may have missed this, but what happened to the NJJA's "lets flood the market thread" ?

Why was that thread eliminated? I found it very interesting. -- lancer

It was eliminated because in the past few days (and to a certain extent in the last week or two) many of the posts among various users had become rather personal to the point where I did not believe the thread could be saved from deletion. Although it raised some interesting issues and I regret having had to take the action that I did, I felt I had no other choice.

I think it turned into Union bashing against the auto workers and auto bailout. It is ok to rescue financial thieves but not workers. Leadmen

I thought it was interesting too but it started to get nasty.

I just thought I was hallucinating as I could not find it.

As soon as something hits a little to close to home it must be eliminated.

Over 3600 views and the entire thread is simply wiped clean.

So much for attempting to have an intelligent conversation amongst fellow

collectors.:D

You would think by now I'd know better.:D

Oh well, say what do you think?

Me.......nothing.:)

The most interesting thread in ages gets axed and we're left with What's my favourite figure

I really think that one should be deleted:D:D

Interesting, I appreciate moderation is thankless and I admit missing the very end but to that point I thought the personal barbs were within the tolerable range. Oddly what started as large differences appeared to be converging, perhaps the end was worse. Pity we don't all have tougher hides.

The thread was pulled because it had devolved into personal battles. The original content was interesting and sparked much discussion. Over time, the topic at hand was lost amid the pot-shots at each other.

I think everyone with an opinion had a chance to weigh in on the topic.

Yes even you and I initially disagreed, but I believe we both found mutual

ground as we each expressed our views.....to wipe out the entire thread was

just the lazy way out for the moderator.

True now lets get back to LOADING UP EBAY!:D

It's an unfortunate reality today that you can't have a counter view without being accused of being radical crazy or threatened by lawsuit.
I miss the day when we "took it outside and settle it". used to be a reletively harmless (though it often took several rounds) way of resolving an issue. Now it goes to guns, knives or lawyers from the get go.
There are some guys on this site who like a little verbal fisticuffs and frankly some that need it!
Having said all that I would bet if we met at a toy soldier show we'd all end up in the bar having some good laughs, Geez, thats just the way guys are!!!:D

Well said Ray!

And on that note:

Happy Holidays

to All!

Who knew toy soldier collectors could be such a fiesty bunch :p

I guess the lesson to be learnt is: Don't get between a man and his hobby! haha

Merry Christmas all, may you all have a successful and prosperous new year with you and yours :)

Just to confirm you are still hallucinating you should not believe anything you have read or been told about SA beating Australia in the cricket. That is just propaganda put out by your Government in order to make you feel better in the hard economic times !!!
