I only have a measly 6 BoB figures, but I feel that they're easily the best K&C have made. The variety of poses, the action and epic scale of the combat lead to such an interesting series. I'd love to be able to make a huge Bulge dio, 4x4 feet. Covered with snow and forests burnt out farmhouses, artillery, snipers, skirmishers in the forest, fighting in towns! I'm sure when I win the lotto I'm going to build a dio that size for all my collections{sm4}.Anyway,most people collect some sort of WW2 series, I've got the Afrika Korps and BoB. So what is your favourite K&C WW2 range, and why is it?
(If you like add a picture of your favourite WW2 dio you have)

I have seen a BoB museum in Luxembourg at a place called Dierkrich (excuse the spelling - I will check my diary!) and it had just such a life sized diaroma of a moment from the battle. Best military museum (apart from the AWM!) I have ever seen.

Battle of Britain is the one I would choose. It is by far the best thing K&C have done IMO. I wonder though, how collecting LAH combat troops sits with visitors to homes and the moral issues it raises when they were guilty of such acts as the Malmedy massacre and, buying the GI prisoner set when he will surely be executed?????.

I am right, it does sound ridiculous when written. Just needed to see

Now you're asking ID!! Don't know where to start to be honest . I think the Bulge is a superb range and one of the very best K&C make, the figures look very realistic and look like they are suffering in the cold. But I guess D Day and RAF tie for my favourite. Can't speak highly enough of them. D Day is full of superb AFV's and figures and the RAF is packed with splendid releases that bring it to life in a way I don't see in other companies. As a WW2 nut I've made three dio's and working on my fourth now, with apologies to all you guys who've seen these pics many times, here's my fave pics of what I've produced so far;

I agree wholeheartedly with you that it is ridiculous to assume that the collecting of toy soldiers from the Nazi era means that a collector is a closet Nazi. But I also know that the first rule in any propaganda war (as in a war between two opposing ideas) is that you never, under any circumstances, repeat the case against yourself. When Richard Nixon kept saying 'I am not a liar' he was inadvertently reminding people that his honesty was an issue. Would it not be better to refuse to bring up the issue yourself in a separate thread and let the opposition run out of breath discussing it amongst themselves. I do sympathise - I would be pretty angry if people made assumptions about me based on my preference in toy soldiers and I would probably reject my own advice if they did.

Jack..

I also agree and, have commented many times on the asthetic nature of a range that someone posts knowing full well the dispicable acts that regime purpotrated on their own people and their vanquished enemies. Never, until now have I made a comment and, it may well be in the current climate that, it was the straw that broke the camels back. I wanted to show clearly that pious comments sound absurd when brought down to the level of a piece of metal in the guise of a toy soldier.

I don't agree about constant denying or defending a position makes it true. If so, all those who decry the nazi's but, have closets full of german sets would then by definition be what they are willing to call many of us who collect the berlin range

I would have thought that on a forum all about toy soldiers and the wars that have been inflicted upon manking and, with people educated and aware of the historical background that, such stupid comments would not occur.

Its also equally the case that your fellow countryman you are talking about could have easily done in terms of starting a thread the same but, choose not to. Now, back to the thread. I have no moral issues about sets that are released as they depict war in not just the fancy palatable way some see it but, in all its gritty horror.

For me, as a one eyed parochial and unashamedly proud Australian, it has to be the 8th Army Australians, no contest.:wink2::wink2::wink2:;)

I think we are in agreement - but who are my fellow countrymen? I didn't mention anyone else.

Thanks Tom. Excellent pics of your's, I love the D Day scene, have you built up that section the troops are lying on or is it flat? Either way it looks very good and a great way to display your figures. The addition of the Palm trees in your AK section is also very effective. Congratulations on a wonderful collection.

Thanks Rob and yeah, it's as flat as a tack! I built the road up a little and then grassed the areas with a mixture of fine and course grasses. The JG Miniature trees, bushes, shrubs and grass clumps make up the scene.

I want to build more dio's (especially a proper desert one) but i have a little problem with space at the moment.

unforunately, most people under 40 would not even know what we are talking about here

Totally agree its a very nice AFV the panther. It also bodes well for the wau that the new Jagdpanther will look as, this is certainly overdue for another release.

I too favor the latest K&C panther. To answer the question of the thread.....I don't think too many will argue the point that WWII European Theater is much more popular to collectors than the Pacific. From there a lot of great series to choose from. :smile2:

I think you are certainly correct about Europe being more popular in TS terms than the Pacific, but I cannot understand why our American friends and cousins are not all over this range like myself on a Mars Bar!^&confuse The US quite rightly has HUGE pride in its Marines and always has done, I would have thought this range would have been massive, can any of our American members offer a reason why they think its not the case?? Could it be that what they went through in the Pacific in WW2 is still too raw a wound maybe?

Jack the name of the town is Diekirch. Next time you are around, try to visit the BOB museums of Baugnez, Poteau, Bastogne historical centre, La Gleize, La Roche and a few more all situated in Belgium.
guy:)

ID for me it is and will probably always be the BoB range both Allies and Germans.
guy:)

Rob..

I also cannot understand this. With how popular the western front is in the US its strange that what has been called their war in history books referring to the pacific, its not they most popular range.
