What is the world coming to ? (1 Viewer)

This has to be the dumbest marketing tactic ever.

Well, since it is working, however bazaar, it is apparently a successful marketing tactic. Not much of a gun really, they could have least offered a Sig or Baretta.

I’ll grant you, the popularity of this offer is a bit chilling. Should we blame this on one of our presidential candidates' foot in mouth moments?:D Seems like they did.

It would be nice to have that kind of choice if you lived in Aus, Canada, UK etc..., wouldn't it? You can always go for the cash rebate instead! Mike

Sounds like you get a junker used pick-up and a Saturday night special. The good ol boys probably will arrange financing at usurious interest rates.............

Apparently you guys don't know much about The West! nearly everybody has a gun in Texas, If you say you don't own one people look at you like "What's your problem?" In Arizona you can Carry as long as it's not concealed, walked into a Starbucks south of Flagstaff and a group of 6 teenage girls come in chatty as most teen girls are and 2 have handguns strapped on. Regularly see guys on Harley's tooling down the open hwy with an old west style gun belt strapped on.

Second Amendment to the Constitution:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

In America most folks love guns, a conservative estimate exceeds 200 million of them, I would not be surprised if the number was greater then our present population of 303 Million folks.

Well you can't have just one; just like TS, there are different ones for different purposes.;)

Well put, Mike! Of all the places where Brits started colonies, I'm thankful I was born in this one.

Prost!

I think its a fine promotion. Bout **** time somebody stops bowing to the world of PC, the Great Society and whatever other idiotic utopia some politician dreamed up. I am a legal, lawful gun owner and proud of it. Nothing wrong with guns as long as the proper background, etc. checks are in place. Let's be honest here, the criminals are always able to obtain a gun, its the law abiding citizens that have trouble b/c of whatever regulation/ordinance is in place at the time. Gun control has NEVER stopped a criminal from finding one.

I think the really bad thing about it is that is encourages people who would not buy a gun to get one. As a general rule, that means at least some of those will not be a responsible as someone who made a thoughtful decision about the purchase. To the extent it trivializes the seriousness and responsibility of owning a gun, it is quite bad. If they had required training as a condition, it would have been better but then it would not have been as successful.:(

Unfortunately 8 times more civilians are killed or wounded in accidental shootings than criminals are in home defence.
Violence in movies, cable, TV, video games and sports added to the proliferation of guns will not make us safer.

Better education, better trained and funded law enforcement and stronger family ties are needed.

Just a little philosophy from a Vietnam era veteran this weekend.:(
