What might be coming from Conte this year? (2 Viewers)

....
The hobby owes him a debt of gratitude for all the excitement he generated and all the collectors he brought into the hobby in the late 1990's, early part of this century...........

No question about that, his Spartan and Persians got me into the figure part of the hobby. Of course, the frustration for his failure to follow through cannot be denied; he never finished that line as well dispite many encouraging promises to the contrary. I don't know what happen to his production capability but it is a sad shame that it did.

Not sure why as Richard never said anything about doing so, but I was holding out hope he'd do a range of Peninsular war figures and buildings based on the Sharpe series; imagine French, British, Spanish, Portuguese figures and purpose build Spanish buildings to create a large town, would have been spectacular............I'm hoping John Jenkins continues forward for a long time with his Peninsular range and also does some Spanish buildings.................

Would be nice to see some early ww2 German's , liked their old set's & since K&C is releasing early war German...Here's a pic of my favorite Conte piece...

Yes I would welcome those unreleased sets, assuming they are done like the original sculpts. I am not as enthused by the new Roman / Barbarian sculpts at this point.

The more I thought about it, the more I liked this idea. Some of those battles would have really leant themselves to the Conte 'hand-to-hand' touch. Looking at my collection now, I'm just so impressed he was able to do what he did and keep the figures in proportion and scale. Conte's soldiers are lean men - they look right. Along with Jenkins' Jacobites, it was Conte's Gordon's that finally got me into metal. I did try several years earlier to buy his Barbarians but no one ever replied to my email......

Absolute best plastic figures ever made. I,m talking about his first releases, the softer plastic ones.
As George stated he turned the hobby upside down in the late 90,s. Never ever will forget his first appearance in 1999 at OTSN, he was a "toy soldier god".
He could have rode around Schaumburg that weekend in the popemobile, waving to the adoring crowds!

Just a day ago Larso and I were standing in front of a cabinet of Conte figures and I made the same observation about the qulaity of the action poses.

It's what drew me back in the hobby.

Looking forward to a further batch of Zulu Wars sets to finish the range off.

Whilst releases are spasmodic. There are rarely pieces in a range that I wish to collect that I wouldn't buy. Being late starter still pieces that I'm looking for.

Here's a sneak peak of one of the new prototype Viking figures headed your way.............The Lt.

Here's another prototype Viking............The Lt.

Happy to see some vikings on the way, the club looks impressive, will fit in nicely with the rest  ...

Just watched 300 again the other night , if Richard is not going to go the whole hog with the rest of the spartan series and if he were only to produce one or two more figures I would really like to see Xerxes ^&cool ...

The bloke with the club reminds me of the character in Braveheart. He looks to be a tweaking of the muted 'Sons of Scotland' range (at least I think that was the name?) I'd have very happily got those!

Joining his fellow Vikings is another prototype a favorite an unique figure..........The Lt.

A fearsome trio to lead an attack, the saxons and monks better run a bit faster^&cool .

Paint em up an ship em out:salute::

Let's not forget the Vikings fearless leader.........The Lt.
