i.e. greater selection, improved sculpting, particular subject matter

I don't really get this poll. How about adding "none of the above". All these ranges are well sculpted and so forth. I think you need to give people the reasons in the poll why you would change. It's also a question of money, space and interest. You could make some ranges super duper but they're not going to necessarily interest all of us. We all have our ranges we just like to collect to the exclusion of others.

I know nobody really wants to hear this again but...

I voted Napoleonics because I interpret "changes to your liking" to include Canadian Militia, Royal Marines, US Marines, US Infantry, and US Militia from 1812.

I wouldn,t hold my breath waiting for the napoleonic range to venture into the war of 1812. Andy made it quite clear he has zero interest in the war of 1812!
I don,t even see the range leaving the french/british any time soon either, he seems to very content in releasing nothing but french and brits. I don,t see any none british napoleonic enemies any time soon.

I believe Britains will be doing some 1812 figures in the near future though from what I,ve read they have plans for this era.

Have all the russians and would collect more if available;)

I either collect a range or I don,t.
It,s the time period, ie, WW2, WW1, etc. is the reason.
The sculpting on all ranges is excellent so for me the question would be what other time period would cause me to collect something new.

well in that case, I could be tempted into the roman range but there is just something about the K&C roman soldiers that just dosen't do it for me:confused: Might be the tunics, not gritty enough , je ne sais quo ,

Yes its time period for me too.If i had unlimited funds i would collect Crusades,Naps and probably ACW too.

It would have to be Romans for me as well! I suppose its the lingering traces of having studied Latin for far too long at school, as well as an unhealthy ammount of viewings of Rome online. Again, though, couldn't quite put my finger on why I don't currently collect this range, apart from the obvious financial, etc. . Maybe subconciously the Roman figures look a little bit "older" in comparison to the newer Barbarian releases? Not fully sure what it is!
Out of curiosity, is the reason that ACW seems to be leading the poll at the moment because there isn't currently a full enough range of figures to entice one into the series??

The Roman figures are excellant arn't they,i also love the Egyptian line, but this maybe because we cruised down the Nile on our Honeymoon;).

I'm always extremely taken by the Romans alright, was looking at them "in the flesh" in the cabinet in Hamleys a fortnight ago, became a distinct effort to restrict my wallet to my usual periods!!
Ha, ha, so the Egyptian line has happy memories then?! No jokes, over breakfast this morning, my mind did turn to potentially looking at that range some day, was leafing through an article about that new Tutankhamen exibition at the British Museum. I think I can honestly say that, given unlimited resources, there are few to no historical periods or ranges that wouldn't tempt me!!

I couldn't agree more Molloy,i only recently took a long hard look at the Crusaders in the Flesh, wow stunning figures indeed.I also like the ACW (loved Ken Burns series)safe to say if my six numbers come up on Saturday i'll be ringing Tony and saying 'One of everything please!';).

ACW. If we were to have 54th. Massachusetts, some beautiful flag bearer figures, Zouaves ( so colorful ), some improvement on horses, this would do it for me. Don't know how I'd do it, because I am already collecting WWI and Napoleonics ( in gloss:D ), and feel tempted by FIW:D. Speaking of FIW, I bet that if K&C did this period they would do the best matte figures on the market for FIW ( a little out of thread here...:p).
Back to ACW, the current range does look excellent and very promising for the future. I wonder if we'll have that much future variety... If we do, maybe a slower pace of releases would help getting along:p.

E Tu Redhugh? Milite Romanorum ab King and Country non cupio mihi.

(You too RedHugh?, The soldiers of Rome by King and Country do not appeal to me.)

I especially do not like the thick bases on the figures.

The Price!!!!:D
I was thinking of getting a few of these figures till I saw that the price in the states is double that of other K&C ranges! I,ll stick to my napoleonics and get 2 of them for the price of one Crimean figure.

If it wasn,t for the price difference I would have picked up a few of these guys. Its a great looking line but I,m almost glad the price was to high because it kept me from getting into another line of figures. Same with the crusades, I picked up a couple of figures but the higher price kept me from being tempted into getting any further into it.

When I read this poll the line that sprung to mind is the Crusaders. Personally I am really interested in the Warrior Monk Orders (Templars, Hospitallers, Teutonic Knights and sub-orders) but most of K&C's Crusaders are not from these orders based on their colours and cross designs etc. I keep going and looking through K&C's Crusader catalogue with the intention to expand my ranks but so far I only own five Crusaders and am only tempted by maybe three more. So if K&C continues this line I would like to see more Order knights (especially mounted knights) and men-at-arms. THAT would compel me to buy more.

Regarding the Romans, I am interested in the period but haven't collected anything from K&C's line for two reasons:
1) In the pictures I have seen the painting/sculpting does not look up to current standards, especially their faces.
2) Almost all of them are wearing longer-sleeved blue winter tunics which I'm sure is perfectly accurate but takes away a bit from their "Roman-ness", if there is such a word.

I like Conte's Roman line better but even it doesn't completely grab me. I don't think any matte toy soldier company (except for the expensive Russians) have done justice to Rome - though perhaps K&C will revisit this line, and I heard East of India might be working on some Romans too.

Thanks very much for your feedback.

To be honest iam glad it was the price and not the look, concept, sculpt and painting as i think, and general feedback so far is that they are really cool.

Price is a tricky one as you are aware they are acommisioned range from K&C for K&C UK and therefore this is reflected in the RRP.

But glad you like them

regards

Tony
