I didn't buy anything technically today but yesterday I bought the Panzer IV Tank from the Afrika Corps, AK 23.

So tell us what you bought today, it can be any brand, new or retired. Share it with the rest of us.

I received a set of Britains Cameron Highlanders color party in hollowcast off an e-bay bid. New set really nice. I also got some of the old WWll multipose Airfix sets. Squadron re-released all the 32 scale figures including Japanese which have been missing for many years. Quality is good, light grey hard plastic and decals and accessories. Worth $8.96 for box with 6 figures. Can be used to make different poses or parts for other figures. Metal and plastic interests me. Leadmen

Just got my latest batch of Marx 54mm GIs. More fodder for the conversion/detailing system (Marx collectors - don't read on!). The first three have had seam removal started, the marching soldier has had some equipment removed (for replacement) and will receive an Airfix M1, the mine detector operator won't be modified very much, but his castings need cleaning.

Nothing yet, but Sunday's going to be a big day: I'll be seeing George at a show and getting 3 of the Russian sets and who knows what else.

I just picked up two sets One Britians HM Queen Elizabeth on Burmese which I got for a song on ebay very nice and clean. I also just got in a set of Marlborough Soldiers from their Durbar set the 15th Ludhiana Sikhs. Very happy with these as well.

I bought the FOV metal figures and they are better looking than there advertisement. Each comes with a little vignette and a collector card.

Not today but almost but received an AN 016 Daimler Armored Car. Very cool although my son said yeah but if it came up against a Panzer, who do you think is going to win?

Not today, but recently Britains sets #33 and #44.The 16th/5th Lancers and the 2nd Dragoon Guards.Really cool.
John

I just got a hold of the King & Country SAS long range jeep. A very rare gem.

I just bought 36 54mm Tradition ACW Rebz and Yanks off ebay.Flagbearers, officers, a mounted officer and about 30 infantry.About $6.50 each shipped. Good deal. Of course I will enhance them to match my painted plastics I did as well as the Britians and Conte metals.
I can hear diehards groaning.
These need rebased, bases terrained, figures shaded and highlighted and lastly, dullcoted. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
Ruin the value? Probably. Do I care. NO.
More troops for my wargame/diorama's.Thats all I care about. :D
FUBARRRRRRRRRRRR

I've got the Stug and Commandos on the way, and the rest of the British set, plus Berlin Tenement also.

Fubar that hurts- I really like the Tradition guys as is. I got a bunch at Detroit show and some gun sets. I got the Imperial Gatling gun set on order since April and Henry vlll 6 wives by Britains. Conte metal Pirate gun sets coming and hanging guy- She will freak with that one. I will probably end up on the rope also. John

I have the Berlin Tenement and two Limited Stugs on the way. :D Can't wait.

Hey Fubar,

You bought those from me!

Don't worry folks, while they are in very good overall shape, they had been displayed, are dusty and without original boxes.

Also, they are still made and readily available through some dealers.

Sorry Johnboy, Glossy guys have never appealed to me.I want my displays to look like a Trioni or Rocco painting, only done in miniature. The sculpts are nice on the tradition, I build , convert and paint constantly and these will look much better to me once I have enhanced them to match my other works.
Would I repaint a new Conte or King and Country? Hell no.Those are great as they come from the factory.

I found a huge lot of Deetail WW2 British Tommies and Japanese a few years ago. I added knapsacks and extra gear to the tommies, primered the lot and repainted them all. Plastic collecters went out of their minds.
I'm happy as a pig in you know what with the results.

I have rebased and enhanced { just a little} scores of Mulberry Napoleonics and added terrained bases to Niena Napoleonics. Just so they match my table terrain . No , I don't do that with most, but sometimes I need to.

By the way, today I found an old retired britians set of ACW Rebs at a shop in Portland.Drummer running and a falling musket toter.I bought it.Too bad thats all that was there. I wasnt collecting metal sets when most of this stuf came out.
FFUBAARRRRRRRR

Gideon,

Which of the 2 did you get? I have both and love them. I still need the 2 trucks and the bren gun carrier.

I got the Jeep - not the wood model but the metal willy's style. It's really nice.

I'm not an avid K&C collector but, seeing as how I own a store who has been carrying the range for nearly 8 years, I thought I would have some good insights for the board.

What I just is really cool. I just bought a late 1920's Arnold pnazerspahwagen. It's a large (over 12 inches) toy armored car made from lithographed tin.

I also just bought a bunch of Wiking (famous maker of HO scale train accessories) pre WWII 1:200 scale vehicles in lead. I will post pics shortly. THey are from 1936-1938 and really detailed. Also, I just got some 1:200 scale 1950's-early 60's era Wiking aircraft models made from plastic. They are really beautiful and all of these will be going on display in my shop as they come in. Whew. I said a lot. My fingers are out of breath.
