Sorry Johnboy, Glossy guys have never appealed to me.I want my displays to look like a Trioni or Rocco painting, only done in miniature. The sculpts are nice on the tradition, I build , convert and paint constantly and these will look much better to me once I have enhanced them to match my other works.
Would I repaint a new Conte or King and Country? Hell no.Those are great as they come from the factory.
I found a huge lot of Deetail WW2 British Tommies and Japanese a few years ago. I added knapsacks and extra gear to the tommies, primered the lot and repainted them all. Plastic collecters went out of their minds.
I'm happy as a pig in you know what with the results.
I have rebased and enhanced { just a little} scores of Mulberry Napoleonics and added terrained bases to Niena Napoleonics. Just so they match my table terrain . No , I don't do that with most, but sometimes I need to.
By the way, today I found an old retired britians set of ACW Rebs at a shop in Portland.Drummer running and a falling musket toter.I bought it.Too bad thats all that was there. I wasnt collecting metal sets when most of this stuf came out.
