What specific unit and personality would you like to see First Legion Pruduce (1 Viewer)

Hi Noah ,
Very informative post , although I'm not collecting the AWI line and I know nothing about it , It's cool to see your enthusiasm . I hope you get your wishes , I do live in Maryland could you tell me what kind of Flag they would have carried . Thank Gebhard

Actually, I'm not totally sure what the regimental flag would look like. I am trying to find out, so if I stumble across the answer, I will let you know.

On a different note, it has been interesting to see the different responses here. And suprisingly enough, I have read a number of the other suggestions and thought 'Yeah, that's a great idea', even on ranges I don't collect.:)

Hi Noah ,
Thanks , I can't afford and don't have the room to collect everything so ACW and AWI didn't make the cut not that they don't look great but you know how it is . I will Cherry pick a few here and there and thought that a Maryland Standard Bearer would be a good one . Yeah I have been doing the same some really cool ideas coming up , I hope more guys chime in ,, I'm off to have a pretty cool weekend http://www.wwiifederation.org/ worth a visit for WWII fans I go every year ;) . Regards Gebhard

I can appreciate your sentiment. While I have stuck to the AWI so far, FL has a couple of other ranges that are very tempting!

Checked out your link and it looks like a great time. Have fun and snap a pic or two for us.

I would love to see them do Roman Gladiators.

Anyone else interested in such figures?

Frederick the Great, Seydlitz and Ziethen.

Maybe Napoleon III, Bismarck and Wilhelm I, too.

Prost!

Just received Simon Scarrow's new book "Legion" from the UK.... Come on Matt, help me further Marco and Cato's adventures....

Excellent idea. Aren't those fun? I reviewed the first one here sometime back and he seems like an excellent fellow. I have exchanged a number of emails with him and he has been kind enough to sign all my copies in the series.

I have all 10 in hardcover, first editions, but "Sands" eluded me in hardcover. For what ever reasons, after the first few books were published, they were impossible to find in the States. Now I'm on book alert with a few websites to notify of new releases in Hardcover. And yes, they are great reads. I'm sure you know a few other authors have Roman series, pretty good but not like Scarrow....

I have greatly enjoyed Scarrow's books as well. They are a fun read, and he does a good job of framing the character's actions within the larger historical setting. Well worth it, if you can find them. I too, have had trouble tracking them down.

Would like to see Waterloo French legere infantry, skirmish mode (for Hougoumont) and line infantry in field dress (greatcoats, shako covers), march attack, for D'Erlon's advance. mod
This is Great and it sure doesn't have to be an existing line it can be anything you want ...
Some Great picks the 10th Legion Aquilifer, w/Bull Emblem by Aeroart although not in an action pose is one of my favorite figures . I think we are both hoping for the same thing ;) I have been pleading the case to Mr Matt in hopes of a line revolving around the battle of Alesia check out this link http://www.alesia.com/ (let is run for a minute it has a short little CGI video) I've been thinking of visiting the site in September I went to the site of the Varusschlacht in Osnabrück last year :) It was Great that would be my second choice for a Battle to cover .. I can just imagine what first legion could do with either of these Battles ..:eek: Great picks . Regards Gebhard

Brad ,
Great choices all :) Zum Wohl! Gebhard

Gleichfalls, Gebhard!

For the Nap III and Bismarck figure, especially, I picture a little vignette of Bismarck and Napoleon on the bench together, after Sedan.

That would be very nice , I think if we do see Seydlitz it will be one from way down the family tree  . Both periods you mention if done by First Legion although a dream of mine would also bring about my financial ruin :redface2: . Prosit Gebhard :salute::

I especially like your first suggestion. It would be really nice to have some of those to face off against the lads in green, when they finally come out.
