Am I going to have to beat Rob for September Dispatches here? Yes, yes I am. What do you think toy soldier Santa will have in store for this upcoming month? It's already past half Christmas(12 July). Seeing how this month is the marketing toy soldier "Big One" for the year, what sort of ancient Chinese secrets do you think will be in store from HK? I've been ear screwing Andy for a Foreign Legion Band for some time but I don't think thats in the cards this month. With so many K&C series out I wonder how they actually allocate to what new soldiers they will put into the production and release queue. Maybe its just bottle of Jim Beam and a dart board. Maybe its some new Warbirds. Maybe its a new figure of me in my underwear(can you say top seller). Maybe its a bunch of SS dudes doing an all male congo-line dance. Maybe it's another new series. Maybe I'm going crazy.

Keep it silly.

Very noble of you to help Rob save himself a post{sm4}.
Of course you do realise that starting this thread comes with the added duty of posting all the info and images when the actual Despatches come out^&grin.

Morning chaps! {sm4} Please excuse my tardiness and I hope the jury will be lenient on this one occasion as I was yesterday in our great if rain soaked capital city and didn't get chance to post. (though I did get absolutely saturated and was only wearing a suit which made for a long wet uncomfortable trip home).I humbly beg forgiveness of the forum jury and throw myself at their mercy etc etc{sm4}:wink2: Thanks to the right honourable Chris for stepping in here {bravo}}

What can we expect? Well no doubt we will see some more of Gordon's excellent dio's in the Windy city , what will be upon them is the question?! We are heading towards Battle of the Bulge season so maybe that will feature, maybe the Grey Germans will appear, perhaps that Mickey Mouse truck or more D Day releases???? Going to be another good collecting month my friends {bravo}}

No doubt we will see some excellent dispatches in September. Maybe we will see Stuka, Grey 88mm Gun and some Russian armour and officer corps.
 
I'm hoping we finally see the Mickey Mouse camo CWT truck as this has a spot saved for it right in my Market Garden diorama!^&grin

Doubt we will see any more brits for normandy/western europe this year, but maybe some more D-Day americans, maybe some Rangers?^&grin

Maybe an anti-aircraft gun for the RAF? Maybe some more Germans!^&grin

Whatever shows up I will be happy regardless as King and Country have really been on form this year and the news of new british paras next year makes me very happy!^&grin

Well now if I was a betting man these are expected to pop up in the next 4 dispatches before year end which will make me a winner. Firstly easy one Light Horse done deal, Ancient Egypt told to expect and also Market Garden now. Think Life of Jesus always hits just prior to Christmas, although I know we had just had a big release of this series. I think Imperial China is on the move and the September releases will be followed up with some more very quickly. The ones we will not see in the next 4 are Sons of the Empire or Napoleon in Egypt. Feel free to have a go if I am proved wrong, cheers, Robin.

Hey Robin, some very interesting ideas there! We are also approaching Battle of the Bulge season so they may well appear in the next two or three dispatches. As for Arnhem, Andy posted this on the 8th , so I'm wondering if Market Garden would be released before years end;

" Yesterday I was up in China with our sculpting team and gave them my drawings for the first 10 x “new” Market Garden Paras. In a couple of weeks time I’ll be adding 10 more.

" Obviously we’ll release these over a period of months in order to avoid any personal bankruptcies or broken marriages.

New figures/vehicles take several months to arrive so I'm not sure of Arnhem before Christmas, but then again K&C are very good at springing surprises on us so you never know!. :smile2:

You could well be right re LOJ and maybe more SOHK??

Hoping for some US "Bulge" armour - an "Easy eight" Sherman or a M36 would be nice. A new version of the M8 Greyhound armored car would be even better. As for the Germans I keep hoping for one of Skorzeny's Panthers pretending to be an M10!

I agree a skorzeny Panther would be awesome!! Hint hint hint! To the best of my knowledge nobody has done it except plastic model kits. I would love to see an M36 too. I know it was late war but an M26/T26 would be great for the occupation of Berlin with Russian Stalin tanks! I really like the new stuff and think it would be great to see some things in armor that have not been done. The universal jeep is a great idea, and I am looking forward to it. Would love to see a captured version of the jeep?
