Aurele (aka Oldtank)...

asked me the other day what I thought John might be releasing for this month...

any guesses????

Mike from Sierra Toy Soldiers usually posts the new releases on Treefrog about the 15th of the month...so....

I'm guessing he will put out...

the 2nd of the 4th set of Jacobites in "hand to hand"...

a set of Brits for 1812...

a set of Brits for Jacobites...

still wanting a piper for the Highlanders...

I'm looking for some Dragoons mounted soon for Cumberland....as he mentioned...

and he's got to do some St..Francis...

also I'm guessing he will put out one of the two remaining sets for Khartoum soon...

I think a second (smaller) Indian long house was supposed to be in the works too...

but your guess is as good as mine...

My want versus Get List

(1) Want ---- Blacksmith Setup for the Camp and Fort Scenes
(1) Get ------ Jacobite Britsh Flag Bearer
(2) Want ----- Grenadier Officer for BoM Firing Line
(2) Get ------- Sudanese Figures
(3) Want ----- French Officer for PoA Firing Line
(4) Get ------- Jacobite British Officer for Firing Line
(but those guys are damm pretty)

Thinking that in a future Collector's Club, we might get a BoM Grenadier Officer suitable for commanding a firing line.

My recent unexpected release by John was PoA British Grenadiers, but if he would then release French Grenadiers that would be awesome and if he matched those regiments with the French Grenadiers who charged a British position near Fort Edward in New York ....... Bloody Morning Scout, Battle of Lake George (September 1755). Three - phase battle over a single day. Including a bayonet charge by the French (Régiment de La Reine and the Régiment Languedoc).

The diorama peeps would have a field day!!! Bayonet Charge in face of a British artillery battery (3 guns), upturned wagons for defense, throw together defensive perimeter, French and Indian ambush, French and Indians being ambused, colonial troops (my guess, not in uniforms)

Geeeeeeeee Ken...

how did I know that a blacksmith shop and a B of M Grenadier Officer was going to be on your wish list...

honestly...I do need a couple of Officers for B of M directing fire...

and I would buy the black smith shop in a second now that I have a blockhouse...

I got a feeling your "get" list is gonna be closer to January's releases as opposed to your "wish" list...

Christmas if for wishing though...

PS...your box is on the way with a confirmation attachment.

I talked to John at the Show in Hackensack NJ on November 1, and I believe he said the new Show Shoes figure that was shown would be out for January release.

He would be nice...I want him.

Guessing:

-Langy
-Jacobite hand to hand
-second Khartoum set
-another Ranger/Indian camp set.

I was in Lord Nelson's today and saw a new painting of the 77th Highlanders. Need I say Bushy Run would make for a great line!;)

This is one that you see most often. BTW: I visited the Bushy Run battlefield this summer. Hard to find, but a great site. The comparison with Monongahela is eerie albeit with a different outcome.

Yea....thank you Doug...that is the most common one...I thought I had it in my files...but I couldn't find it...I'm transfering this one to my documents to save.

I think this painting would be depicting the moment of the engagement when they drew the Indians in with a planned retreat.

MIKE...I was browsing looking for soldiers and came upon site had soldiers and prints. I thought of you but did not know how to click on pictures. I dont even remember where it was i was on auctions and all over. If i come across it i will put it on favorites and let you know.

Another:

BTW: 2013 will be the 250th anniversary of the battle.

2012...1812

2014...Chippewa

as Rod Sterling would say..."Coincidence...you be the judge".

DOUG....Thanks for posting some great pictures of BUSHY RUN. I sure hope JOHN decides to do it. He said he is making new sets of indians, all we would need is 6 to 8 sets of highlanders and if we need more we can double up on some sets.

I hate to be critical of John since he is such a nice guy. But passing on Ticonderoga and Bushy Run for 1812 and Sudan just makes my head hurt. They seem like a slam dunk for his collector base. Hope springs eternal though!:)

Aurele...you know....you're really right.

I never collected Quebec...

so I don't own any British Scots, Highlanders or Blackwatch...

and I have always loved those dark kilts...

Since only three regiments were at Bushy Run 42nd...60th and 77th...

and John has Iroquois already...

maybe 3 or 4 sets of each and some flour bags...

throw in a Bouquet and the series is done.:D

John feels that for him they are too similar to the BOM series in terms of their content and that is why he has not pursued those subjects. it would be nice, however, to see him do some FIW Black Watch.

MIKE...Glad you mentioned flour bags the boys are getting very hungry. I would be very happy if JOHN would only make just one of those highland regs. If you dont behave i will send you some snow...ha..ha.
