Guys, check out First Legion's site if you haven't in the last couple hours. There is a new Civil War preorder, which I'm sure Matt will get to here. Also, there are a couple of new pics which might give some hints as to what else is coming soon. I spy a new British soldier along the top banner and what seems to be a new French release on the left side. Any guesses?

Noah

Noah,

I noticed this too and it looks very promising for guys like you and me who collect their AWI range. Andanna pointed out to me that the new redcoat pictured on the top banner might be for a new FIW range. It is hard to tell but I would say that it is for the AWI. Either way I welcome the news and cannot wait for an announcement!!! Hopefully it won't be too long before Matt makes things known.

Mark

Mark, that is an interesting point about the French and Indian War. I hadn't even thought of that! Either way, I'm excited as you are to see the full reveal and preorder. It shouldn't be too long if Matt has started putting up teaser pics like this...

Noah

That Redcoat looks more Rev War than F&I to me. But I'm just guessing, and hoping. I don't need another line to collect right now. I'm already tottering on the edge with the Landsknechts.

It's hard to say but it looks more FIW to me.I know wishful thinking on my part but I'm saving up just in case.

I believe it looks more AWI to me. LOL But really I hope its for AWI actually I dont need to collect another range..... Im serious about that.

Matt's slick as he has the picture so you can't quite tell.:rolleyes2::confused:

I just noticed this thread and here is what I can offer:
The figure pictured is an NCO of a Center, or Battalion Company, He wears the waist sash with yellow center stripe, and carries a polearm, or halberd conforming to the 1768 Regulations.
The facings are yellow with single spaced Bastion Lace loops. this narrows it to one of the following regiments in North America:
29th regiment of Foot
30th regiment of Foot
38th regiment of Foot.

The 38th was in the 3rd brigade under Brigadier General Pigott after Bunker Hill, so this is my guess.
Yellow facings with single spaced Bastion Lace loops with a red and yellow worm for Other Ranks.

This would allow the use of body sculpts from the 5th regiment of Foot Grenadiers as their green facings also share single spaced Bastion Lace Loops.

It will be interesting to see if I am right.

I saw the ACW release, but I didn't want to steal Matt's thunder, so I only briefly mentioned it in my first post. I was originally referring to the new pics in the top banner and along the left side of the site, as they would hopefully spark conversation about what new releases are upcoming. I'm suprised there has been no opinions on what appears to be a new French line regiment on the left. Seems like Matt has made something many people have wanted, a firing line of French Naps.

That is some great stuff Ken! Many of us value your knowledge and this is a great example of why that is. Thank you.

WOW ,
Must be one finely sculpted and painted figure to yield so much information from just the torso . Of course you have to know what your looking at :wink2: and Mr Ken and you really know your stuff :salute::. Excellent information . Thanks for sharing your knowledge on the subject with us . Regards Gebhard

I agree with you Ken. After doing a little research myself I now have learned that the 38th Regiment of Foot was involved at Lexington & Concord (Grenadier and Light Infantry Companies), heavily involved at Bunker Hill, and also participated in the 1776 New York campaign and were engaged at Brandywine, et al . . . time will tell . . . we shall see . . . . something coming for Noah and me . . . .

Mike, I know you are just as excited to see what this new release will be. I was waiting for you to chime in, as this looks to be right up our alley.

Been reading about Lexington and Concord and Bunker Hill these past several days. It appears that the 5th, 38th, and the 52nd regiments were brigaded together during these battles . . . . Considering this, and Ken's obsevations, I would say that I fully agree with Ken's prediction . . . . Hope they arrive soon . . .

Hey Mike. I got really excited when I saw this thread was bumped and had a new post today. I automatically assumed there were new pics that had been added. And you know what happens when you assume.....^&grin

I am excited for this upcoming release, so I hope we get to it in the next few weeks.

Click the time period desired (FIW or the AWI) and then the wanted regiment to the far right.

A great web site Ken . . . I just discovered it about a week ago. I have put my ACW figures aside for a little bit and I am now spending more time with my AWI figures. I don't know the AWI as well as I know the ACW so I have had to do a bit of research on the British and Colonial factions.

Ken's prediction would probably be spot on IF the facings were yellow...but alas they are not yellow, they are buff. :)

I think we'll preview the full regiment/release as the "sneak peek" in our newsletter which should be sent out next week sometime.
