...my cat-woman is attracted by bayonets, may believe they are toothpicks!
18th-century Hessian officers with facial hair, and those serving on foot sculpted wearing riding boots. Talk about horror stories--it freezes my blood.
Prost!
Brad
I think that the list price in the US is $125, not $225. -- AlAbsolutely agree on the Hessian officer! I thought no one else really noticed.
My latest Horror was to look at the May dispatches and first be elated to see the two new mounted figures for the World War 1 desert theater. There was my man Lawrence sitting on his camel....I was in heaven..........until I glanced down at the price. $225 dollars? I thought there must be a type O......but alas no. At least Lawrence was minus the silly smirk he has on the club figure, but none the less, too expensive.
It was mere months ago that Napoleon on camel was released at 99.00. I will go with the Lawrence that comes with a foot figure as well for under a hundred.

Well this doesn't compare to Louis' story but tonight my son was looking at the infantry soldier in DD 34 (the other 3 are paras) and he dropped him. Wrecked beyond repair. Did I remain cool, calm and collected, after all it's not retired? NO!!, I went ballistic. After I calmed down, I went to ebay and bought a new one and a figure from 8th Army while I was at it. Now, I'm cool, calm and collected.
After finishing setting up a carriage and escort, the entire thing tipped over, each horse going down one by one. I still have to re attach a lantern, some arms, and do many touchups.

Luckily I've never had a K&C Horror story:smile2: My Horror story involved this;
And the one on the left;
I don't know if my wife used mythical powers or drugs in my drink, but she convinced me to allow the little varmints into the office/display room for a while. As I was on the floor unpacking boxes I turned and to my Horror saw the furry little bleeder leap up wrap one of her paws round the barrel and bring it heading to the floor at a rate of knots. Somehow I was able to conjure up the fielding reflexes I had in my Cricketing youth some thirty years ago, hurl myself across the room and catch the falling medium Tank . As a result said tank suffered no serious damage and said Cat still has a home, less one office she is not allowed to enter.
On the K&C front I want to give a shout out to the guys at K&C UK, in well over one hundred orders with them I've never had a single damaged item delivered or lost anything in transit . I feel especially fortunate when I read of some of the Horror stories on this forum and how some people get things in bits{eek3} So a big thanks to Dispatch Dave and the guys at K&C UK:salute::

Cats are evil Rob, so never be surprised when they 'accidentally' break things. They know exactly what they are doing!{sm4}{sm4}
Scott, whenever Mike hears it's me on the phone first thing he says ' oh bloody hell ! ' ^&grin As you say a true gent and always goes out of his way to help.
Jack , they are indeed evil little bleeders but you can't help loving them, the one on the left swans around here like she's Queen of the world and we are her ' staff' . If my picture has fallen of this thread it was the Winter Panther from Honour Bound that nearly got broken.

Irish State Coach by any chance ? Same thing happened to me
Mine was a figure in a building I forgot about, moved the building and the figure tumbled 6 feet snapping the bayonet off
I have a strange one for you .....
I have, on occasion, set up a small AWI diorama at a local school when they were having “History Weeks”; other events or special occasions. Due to OSHA regulations (safety regulations in the US) and security policies in the school system, all boxes and packages must come through a Shipping / Receiving room and sent from or brought to the dock by school personal. (Mostly the Janitor)
After a successful day, I packed up and the 6 boxes and they were sent to S/R. I used the large boxes that you get when you purchase packages of copy paper. After waiting 30 min for the boxes to arrive, they appeared and I loaded them into my car, drove home, unloaded and had dinner.
Later that evening I started to put away the soldiers and diorama material and to my HORROR, {eek3} one of the boxes actually contained packages of printer PAPER!
I called the school, but of course they were closed. I never slept a second that night. The next morning I was at the school at the crack of dawn.
After explaining the situation we conducted a search and FINALLY found my box in the supplies storage closet.
All was okay except my nerves. I now have very distinct markings on ALL my boxes.
