Whats your K&C plan? (1 Viewer)

Sorry to hear yours was chipped Chris, could you not return it to your supplier for a replacement? But you sound happy with your repair job so that's good mate, much as I love the Spitfire this Typhoon is the best poly Warbird yet. The FW190,Hurricane, ME , Spit are all excellent but this Tiffie is the business. There are lots of competitors who are producing some great items, but for me K&C are simply the best, just something about their style that makes their product addictive to collect.....and every month there's more!

Haha indeed we do Rob! Just got back from Boston and set the Typhoon up alongside the Hurricane...beautiful! It was hard to part with that much cash at the time but it will take pride of place in my collection and I plan to build a very handsome diorama around it! I have never built a large scale diorama before but if I am ever going to, the Typhoon deserves to be the one I do it for!

I did notice something however that I haven't noticed on K&C planes/tanks before, and it could be because I haven't bought any 'new' releases for a long time. The quality of the painting seems to have dropped a little, or rather the quality of the finishing. The Typhoon came new in box, never opened and in at least 5 places there were paint chips, and in another, on one of the black stripes it could clearly be seen that it must have been chipped at the factory and hastily painted over with a blob of black! Now I have spent an hour touching it up with delicate precision to get it to what I would call 'finished', but it is a little disappointing to spend what was in effect $400 on it only to find it in almost second-hand condition. I wonder if anyone else has felt this or if I just got a lemon! But on the flip side, the plane looks amazing now and what little defects there are I will put down to a rough flight that ended in a wheat field in Normandy and a little contact with a few Gerry bullets!

Off to collect the Spitfire from my mailing address now...it will be dry bread and water for the rest of the month for me I think!

Rob,

I had already driven back from Boston mate when I checked it but the repair job is seamless if I may say so and it looks good as new. Hoping to pick up the Spitfire tomorrow and that will give me the 3 RAF planes and my wallet can take a sigh of relief...for now! I hadn't seen the Bowsers until this weekend...they are huge! Can't wait to get hold of them, the K2 Ambulance and the new Morris truck, then I will just get a pilot here and there.

And I agree mate, it's the thrill of the monthly chase for me too!

Chris

Nice pick up Chris, glad you've sorted the chips too. I've not seen the Bowsers up close yet but everyone I've talked to echoes what you've said mate in that they've been really surprised at how big they are, can't wait to get one myself but I've decided to get the new truck first as I've just laid out for the Typhoon and my credit card is still annoyed with me!

Cheers

Rob

Agreed Rob, the Bowsers seem to be in plentiful supply right now so they can wait, I have a feeling the new truck will go fast! The ambulance can wait too as it's not retired nor a limited 250 release like the truck.

We are closer now to the next dispatches than the last, think RAF will strike again?

Chris

Chris, am not sure we'll see more RAF just yet, unless the Desert version is on the way. But this will give us time to save up a bit! I agree with you about the truck, I think it may be gone before the Bowsers and so thatswhy I'm getting that first ( RAF and D day versions) . Funny how some sell out really quick and others are around for quite a while after release. What I like about the 250 series and especially the RAF vehicles is that not only are they rarely made vehicles but they also go really well with the figures from that range. As many have said, this range has shot up the popularity charts and is one of the best K&C produce.

Rob

As a collector of a range that is a very low priority for K&C, my plan is to just hang in there and hope, pray and cross fingers and toes that we get more releases other than every 2+ years or so.

Would love to be able to check dispatches and like you lucky WWII guys see more regular releases throughout the year! {bravo}}

All of my future plans revolve around the release of the 1914 French fighting infantry and cavalry. Hopefully these will be out by January 2012, if so then my plans will definately be to focus on those. Until then, it will just be the stray WW1, Lighthorse, Bulge, and occasional Napoleonic pieces. For all you ACW and AWI collectors, I have no proof just going on gut instinct, but I have a feeling something big is in the works for those two series that we will see very soon.

My Future plans For K and C

WW1
Civil War
Revolutionary War
Napoleonics
Berlin 1938
Berlin 1945
Normandy
Iwo Jima

I guess you could say all be busy !^&grin

As to whats currentley out there my plan consists on buying the Typhoon and all its supporting figures (order placed) and all the Bulge figures & AFV's relased in the last dispatches and newest issue of Collector's magazine. They are all irresistable purchases for me...^&grin

Yes I have more than enough to keep this particular K&C collector both busy and happy. RAF,Normandy, Bulge, Arnhem, North Africa.....so many different theatres of WW2 alone, who else offers such variety for us WW2 collectors???

I know and its only September And still more dispatches to come. Its gonna get carzy here man.:D

My future plans are to cut back a bit. No problem with K&C or the models, it's just that I have basement full of various hobby things that I don't have room to properly display. I need to sell some of the stuff that I picked up on impulse like the P51 and a couple of vehicles. It's also time to reduce the excess in the plastics, the trains, and other stuff that is just packed into boxes in the basement.
