Gentle Friends,

There are some days in the life of a toy soldier collector that are just too good not to share. Recently, I experienced such a day.

As with all collectors, I dream of owning a variety of figures/sets that are either too rare, or too expensive, or too difficult to find and I just assume I will never have the opportunity to add such items to my collection. Fortunately, over the years, I have been very surprised to discover I was in a time, place, or circumstance that allowed me to add one of those "dreamed about" items to my collection. In every instance, the thrill accompanying my acquisition has always been extremely exciting. And,...once again, I find my self in this situation.

As you know, I am a huge Delhi Durbar enthusiast and I am always interested in adding to that portion of my collection. What I was able to add is the Beau Geste, Set #69/70/71, Alwar's Throne. If you are familiar with the set, you know what a wonderful set it is. If you are unfamiliar with the set, it is high time to take a close look at it. Consequently, I have attached a few photos of the set to this message in order that you might enjoy viewing it.

The photos below present the entire set. In four messages to follow this one, I will share closer views of some of the individual figures. I hope you enjoy viewing all the photos.

Four more posts, with photographs, will soon follow this one.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Pat,
There's nothing like finding an ever-elusive "holy grail" set. Congrats on finding one of those types of sets, one that you had previously only dreamed about. There is nothing like the rush one gets from such a find. Your stars were in alignment!! Thanks for sharing the pics and experience of your dream acquisition! I might have a dream acquisition to add to yours, but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch....I don't have the figure in hand yet. Enjoy your amazing new acquisition!

Joe
