Gentle Friends,
There are some days in the life of a toy soldier collector that are just too good not to share. Recently, I experienced such a day.
As with all collectors, I dream of owning a variety of figures/sets that are either too rare, or too expensive, or too difficult to find and I just assume I will never have the opportunity to add such items to my collection. Fortunately, over the years, I have been very surprised to discover I was in a time, place, or circumstance that allowed me to add one of those "dreamed about" items to my collection. In every instance, the thrill accompanying my acquisition has always been extremely exciting. And,...once again, I find my self in this situation.
As you know, I am a huge Delhi Durbar enthusiast and I am always interested in adding to that portion of my collection. What I was able to add is the Beau Geste, Set #69/70/71, Alwar's Throne. If you are familiar with the set, you know what a wonderful set it is. If you are unfamiliar with the set, it is high time to take a close look at it. Consequently, I have attached a few photos of the set to this message in order that you might enjoy viewing it.
The photos below present the entire set. In four messages to follow this one, I will share closer views of some of the individual figures. I hope you enjoy viewing all the photos.
Four more posts, with photographs, will soon follow this one.
Warmest personal regards,
Pat
