When It's Time To Say Good-Bye (1 Viewer)

Seeing as I only collect 2 ranges I really don't have this problem; I have started to lose interest in a few of the WW2 sets that I have and am going to have the wife put them up on e-bay soon. (All are retired). Keep an eye open for them!

I don't mind rotating parts of my collection between storage and display. Viewing the same items every day can cause disinterest, whereas bringing out something you haven't seen in a while allows you to reexperience the items.

I've certainly sold several of groups of items and even entire ranges in order to focus on new interests. When I consider that I can sell many items for near the purchase amount, I feel like I got to enjoy those items for free.

One tough decision I've been considering lately is the possibility of selling all of my WWII stuff and focus on Naps and Civil War. Although I'm far more interested in WWII, all that Olive drab just doesn't look as classy as Napoleonics or Civil War (well at least the Union figures look classy). Also, house guests who see the collection are more likely to perceive the WWII items as toys whereas a collection of Napoleonic toy soldiers carries with it a more mature and sophisticated association.

I thought I would start this thread and see if there are others who feel like I do.

Do you ever lose interest in a King & Country range ? Decide to change collecting paths ?

I have found myself losing interest in hanging on to my Romans and Barbarians (which I am selling off on Ebay). Since Andy has stop producing the figures in the range and more & more & more - new interesting K&C ranges are coming out - I decided to punt.

Space also has become a concern - I mean I simply can't fit another Curio Cabinet in my townhouse or office - I already have NINE !

With all things new ranges and cool things being released by K&C - my older figures are starting to be re-examined for a trip to Ebay. I can't hang on to everything I have and then add all these new wants on top of that !

I refuse to buy something to put on the shelf in the box and not display it - I did that before on few items and think ing I would display it later - then never do.

What about you guys ?

there is never a good time to say goodbye!!!!!

Ron,do you mean you now choose between Waterloo morning,Waterloo lunchtime or Waterloo about teatime-ish;):D

Rob

Scary as it is...that really IS a legit choice, now, isn't it?!...and I am curious if you really have made that choice (at least diorama-wise)...and why? :D
