There are a number of TS manufacturers including T Gunn, First Legion, K & C and J Jenkins with quite well developing and growing Roman series. I collect mainly T Gunn, would like F Legion camp series but out of my price range. J Jenkins are producing Gauls and T Gunn look that they are going to release Dacians in Jan 2018. Both Dacians and the Gauls look great, but where are the Brits? Celts, Picts, tribes such as Brigantes, Icen, Silures, Ordovices and Deceangli. these and there are other tribes!

I cannot figure out why TS manufacturers are not meeting the requests of many collectors I know?

Anyone else have any idea why?

We have left the European Political Union not the continent, unless our government has decided to try and tow us further into the atlantic...........
Saw the TG Brit chariot today, looks nice but need some fighters.

TCS has made a number of excellent Celtic figures in their 43AD line and they are size compatible with TG, JJD and FL. Conte made a number of Celtic figures in their Roman line; they are available on eBay.

Have seen TCS figures at the London show and size comparison you are correct, but size is not everything [so most men say], I do not think the quality is that good, they remind me of Del Prado figures, good but not as good as TG/K & C or JJ. Like the Conte sets I think they are older 'looking' sets and are showing their age. I Like Conte and have all the Viking sets and they go great together, but the Roman figures are just a bit 'Del Prado' for me.

I have been critical of this situation a couple of times on the forum without much support. Only now is TG starting to produce opposition for their Roman figures.
JJD and TCS have produced some excellent Gauls and Celts. Also no fighting Persian figures have come forward from TG for their Greeks and Spartan series. I find it incredible they aren't producing opposition , it seems a huge loss of income. Regards Greg.

I have been thinking why no Brits? I am at a blank? For Romans there are a lot of options, I think Brits would be one of the best and another that I think would be a great opportunity would be the Spartacus revolution, there is a great opportunity for a series that include legionnaires, officers and a host of different Gladiators and Slaves as enemies.

I think from a collectors stand point any enemies of Rome in general would be a welcome sight. Obviously, there are choices out there but it's more of a mix and mesh just to get enough figures to create a descent size scene.

With Rome it is easy. Make a figure and people will buy multiples because you can duplicate Romans in mass since they are more uniform. The opposition on the other hand is a different question. How many Gauls etc..... would be wearing the exact same thing in the exact same pose. More then likely your only gonna buy 1 of each figure. This is sorta why I like what JJD is doing and to an extent TGM with their Dacians. Same figure different shields, paint etc.... I'm glad to see the Dacians finally made but I would also like some Picts. I would also like to see one of those Dacians holding the Falx correctly 😁

Graeme from 'The Goodies' tried to tow it by rowing boat in the Pirate Radio episode, not so easy apparently.

Oddly enough K&C and Del Prado have shared figure sculpts. The Del Prado figures based on Osprey Illustrations are nice figures, as good as the K&C Barbarian figure line IMO. The Marcomannic and Dacian leaders in the Del Prodo line are very good and I only wish their were more of them. The K&C Barbarians are also very good; but only 12 were made. The Conte Behold the Power of Rome set will stand comparison with any other manufacturers figures. The sculpt of the victorious German with the Roman head on a spear is a classic that has yet to be equaled!

K & C made figures for Del Prado but that was years ago and they no longer do so.

Hello

I would encourage you to take another look then. They had one batch that came out that almost killed the line but there are some real gems out there. It's your call but I have them mixed in with my FL figures as well and they look excellent.
FL has the druid- how much more British can you get than that???? :) :)

Perhaps because Del Prado is no longer making figures? I wish Richard would reissue some of the best figures as they were unique. The Tervingi and Saxon warriors were excellent pieces. The Allmani Cavalry figure was also well done and faithful to the Osprey art.
