As I said in a prior post, to my knowledge, no jets were ever produced by Focke-Wulf during WWII.

The word Rammjäger was improperly used with the units of the Jagdgeschwader 4. In fact, they were designated as Sturmböck or Sturmjäger.

The word Rammjäger was used to designated the Fieseler Fi 103R which is the "suicide jet" that corresponds the most to the description made by K&C.

The jet that is the closest to the model made by K&C is the Bachem Ba 349 Natter.

I am not an expert in WWII planes but I have some knowledge and I can't find nothing in my reference books or in the net.

I must say that I am very intrigued and I'd really like to see a photo of a Focke-Wulf Rammjäger jet.

Accordingly, I am asking: where I can find a Fw Rammjäger jet like the one produced by K&C (except at my local dealer's store when available :) ).

Pierre.

I believe you can find several in pieces on the bottom of the English Channel :D

You have a point there Ron.There must be so many Heinkels,Stukas,ME109's and Dorniers along with Spits and Hurricanes at the bottom of our English channel. Not a nice resting place for the Luftwaffe/RAF pilots.I guess a fair few bombers that limped back towards France must have come down in the drink near the French coast.

Then when you add all the Merchant ships sunk,German subs full size and miniature it must be a veritable junk yard down there.

Rob

Has anyone thought about raising any of these planes, if they have survived in any condition, that is.

I think this would be a good idea. There must be so much stuff down there, although of course much of it could be classed as war graves.

It would be nice to have some more info from Andy on this plane. Maybe a real picture or reference that it is based on. That would be much appreciated.

Agree with you Doug.

At this point, I have to say that this model is purely fanciful.

Having gave my opinion, I must say that it is a great set and I have already ordered it.

I have no idea whether it is or not. Can't imagine that there is no historical basis for this model. Maybe it is some sort of prototype that was never actually built. Hopefully Andy will provide some further information.

I can be wrong but my opinion is that the model made by K&C is a blend of a Fieseler Fi 103 R and a Yokosuka MXY-7 and never existed.

The following site looks complete and there is no Focke-Wulf jet (for me, a prototype never completed is certainly not a "jet" as I understand it):

Brad/Louis-
Any thoughts here on Pierre's point? I don't recall KC ever producing something that did not actually exist. If it is a complete fiction that would really be odd given that the Germans had so many interesting planes to choose from like the ME 163. The Germans often experimented with prototype planes and tanks that never made it into production. If it is simply a prototype that would open some interesting possibilities with German tanks - like the Panther II.

Hi Guys,

As requested by Pierre and Combat here is some more info on the “Rammjager”.

I accessed the information from a great little book called “Luftwaffe Advanced Aircraft Projects to 1945” Volume 1, Fighters and Ground Attack Aircraft.

Along with the front cover I am enclosing a page on this Focke-Wulf model. Hope it helps and illuminates.

Best wishes and...happy flying!

Andy C.

P.S. Price should be available next week...don’t worry it will be very affordable.

Andy

thank you for the pics and info and for your (very affordable) about price

Well it looks like all questions on our new little jet have been answered. :D

I like the tought process on affordable too ;)

For those of you who get the History International Channel, April 22 from 8 - 10PM EST, a show on Japanese and German Kamikaze weopons.

Thanks for the pictures and information Andy. Its still not entirely clear to me that any of these were actually made - just designed which could mean they existed only on paper. Always nice to learn something new though.

I'm not sure you can infer that Doug although it's not a wholly unreasonable interpretation from the text Andy posted.

Thanks for the reference Andy.

I am still (and more) totally convinced that the Focke-Wulf Rammjäger never existed after reading the text under the drawnings of the jet in that book.

It's not because it is in a book that it is true or real. Just think about that French guy who wrote, within a week, a book denying the attack on the Pentagone in 2001. It was an instant best seller (sic).

Having said that, the WS100 set is a great product and I have already ordered it.

QUESTION TO ANDY

What is happening with the Bf 110 (Battle of Britain markings). I sent an email to pre-order one but the reply was about the five (5) prototypes with the desert camo.

Pierre.
