I have a new customer who wants to try painting Shenandoah kits and is wondering where to get paints and brushes. Where are your favorite places to get these items?

Where's he from? Unless you have a knowledge of the stuff in the first place, it isn't something you want to just order sight unseen. The level of expertise is another limiting factor. It's good to have a shop where there is someone who has knowledge that can spend some time to explain things and give advice. I used to go to the old Valley Plaza Hobby Shop (Coulter Bennett later on). There are still a few shops around, have him check the local Yellow Pages under hobbies and maybe he'll get lucky.

I use a variety of sources. Since no hobby dealer is closer than 150 miles, in the Minnapolis/St. Paul Metro or Fargo/Moorehead, I use the Internet for shopping. However, I agree with the previous post, either get some good personal advice or practice, practice, practice. I use several sites for my supplies. I prefere to use https://www.phoenix-model.com/. They always seem to have everything in stock and they ship quickly. Others are http://www.hometown-hobbies.com/home_page and http://www.woodlandscenics.com/. Each one is just as good as the other and they have an extensive supply of paints, brushes, air brush and accessories, and other items used in models and toy soldier collecting. Sometimes you can find a bargin on eBay. :) Michael
