Where to Buy (1 Viewer)

The UPS man was so kindly to bring my package from First Legion yesterday. The two figures I recieved were outstanding, with great detail and well worth the money. These are my first two of hopefully 100's more to get in the future from FL.

Congratulations Dom, welcome to the club of happy FL purchasers.;):D:cool:

Enjoy your first two figures. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, how strong is the pull to go order more figures now that you have some in hand?

I had 0 FL figures 4 months ago.

I have now 75 or so.

How many will I have in 12 months, 2 years or 10 years ?

That is the question :)

At that rate I would guess

1 years 225
2 years 450
10 years 2250

or perhaps you didn't want to know that :D:D

Hi Dom,
Welcome to the addiction  , Its like a big girl and a bag of chips ;) having one is just not an option . I like your first choice a Prussian and a Wurttemberger you can't go wrong with those two. Its gonna be nice to have another collector interested in the German states of the time . Look forward to having your input , All the best and happy collecting Gebhard

Gebhard,

I love these two figures. I plan to get a couple more next week. I have my eyes on the Bavarians, at least what is still in stock.

"AND SO IT BEGINS".... I had a sneaking suspicion you would ;) Collectors of Napoleonics have been left out in the cold when it come to all the combatants being covered for far to long , with First Legion our time has finally come . I started with one Bavarian to give this new company First Legion a try and i have not looked back . IMO they are producing the finest Napoleonic figures today both in terms of quality , and depth of coverage . Another heart felt welcome , I really look forward to your contribution to the threads . We have a pretty good group of guys here , I think you'll enjoy the company. All the best Gebhard

UncleNick

If I had one non mounted figure to buy next at the beginning of my collection I would buy any of the french old guard figures. You won't regret it that's for sure.

If you would like to get one mounted figure, I would URGE you to buy the mounted english british guard colonel. At 89.95$ it's a steal. I'm thinking about buying another one but there are so many other mounted guys I want, I might wait a little bit.

My understanding is that the Bavarians will be reissued this year as a new regiment. You might therefore want to reconsider your preferences unless you are infatuated with one of the two regiments offered at tis time. I am also not clear on when the new Bavarians would go on pre-order. Maybe Matt can shed some light on this to ensure a new collector starts with a new regiment and improved choices.

Can I ask you were you heard this ? I have never heard this one.... please share your intel , You must have some insider info  . I remember hearing that this was it for the 4th and 5th and that maybe  First Legion would revisit the Bavarians at a later date . But i don't think Matt said these sculpts would be repainted , if you want Bavarians I think you should buy now or you will miss out . But hey what do I know ? All the best Gebhard

I think he means there will be new Bavarians, not the same sculpts.;)

I agree. I do not think Matt was specific as to whether the same sculpt would be used or not. Just, as what was said here, that the Bavarian Army will be revisited.

Considering the improvements since the first release, and irrespective of whether inter Alia the "older" sculpts are being used or not, I would expect to see an even higher level of painting than the first release and a greater number of different sculpts for the same unit.

I may reference the two units of the Westphalians as an example of such development.

I apologize if I caused any misunderstanding. I certainly have no insider knowledge.

Hello Andreas ,
I think it was your choice of words in your first post "reissued " instead of "revisited" that threw me off a bit . Its no trouble at all , I sure hope that First legion will revisit the Bavarians in the form of Calvary , Artillery , and new infantry sculpts . I would love to see the Bavarian representative to Blücher's headquarters at Waterloo ..Prince August of Thurn and Taxis produced by First Legion that would be cool  . Thurn and Taxis ahhh..reminds me of the Bier ;) All the best Gebhard
