Where to find Toy Soldiers in London - part 1 (of 3) (1 Viewer)

So, if you were to recommend only one or two toy soldier shops in London, which ones would you choose? A friend and I have decided to rent this https://tranio.com/rent/united-kingdom/adt/1729959/ flat near the Charing Cross metro station for our families, to go on a group holiday for a week. A week is only seven days, and we've planned to do one or two day trips to other cities if possible, so I won't have a lot of time for my hobbies... and that's why I want to have the best bang for my buck.

Thanks!

I would definitely recommend The Guards Museum Toy Shop at Wellington Barracks (St James Park underground station) just across the road from Buckingham Palace so you can do 2 activities at once - visit the shop and see Buckingham Palace across the road!
and if you have time Covent Garden is great - and Zhe's shop is there too.

Hi.
I am wondering if Antonio's Traditional Games is still open? I can't find them on the web.
Thanks,
MikeNick

hi all,

as promised some time ago here are photos of one of the Toy Shops in London which does still stock TGM, K&C, Del Prado and many others. Its Antonio's Traditional Games shop behind the main Covent Garden market building in central London (Picadilly Tube).

Photos below. Its next door to the London Transport Museum which should make it easier to find. Its in the Jubilee Market Hall (behind the main Covent Garden market building). Enter the Jubilee Market Hall using the left hand side entrance and its second or third shop down on the left. Its small but well stocked and has plenty of good stuff as you can see from the photos!

Zhi is the guy onsite - with the baseball cap and glasses. Owner Allesandro who regularly attends the London Toy soldier shows with Zhi.

Parts 2 and 3 will come soon showing the "Armoury of Saint James" shop in Picadilly (photos coming so you can all find it and see what it stocks) and the National Army Museum Shop in Central London just south of the river.

Cheers,

Stefan

For an update; Guards Museum is now closed. Its now a cafe. David who used to run it has retired and the owner wasnt interested in toy soldiers anymore. shame.

Antonio's shop in Convent Garden is still there I believe but Antonio died of cancer and its been taken over buy a guy called Zhi. I dont know if he has a website anymore. will plan a trip over one day to find out.

Thank you .
Are there any other toy soldier shops in London that you recommend? This would be in addition to Antonio's, Armory Sint James, and Andy Morants.
Thanks,
MikeNick
