Any suggestions as to which crusading period K&C should do next? From what I've read on other threads it seems quite a few would like to see Templars. What about more personality figures similar to the Saladin/Richard figs. It would seem this particuler range would lend itself well to these type of pieces. Myself, I would like to see some of the 1st Crusade covered, or maybe a mounted Templar Cavalry set in various poses would also be :cool:. Any chance of non-military figures being developed depicting castle/town life from this era? Something like SOHK range. Much of the action during the crusades centered around seiging cities/towns so it would be kind of cool to have figures depicting them, IMO. Not sure if there is a big enough demand though.

Any of what you mentioned would be fine with me lots of empty room is my display cabinets waiting for some Crusaders
 
I´ve said it before - i´ll say it again!;)

Templars, Templars, Templars - with their wonderful red cross and lots of weapons - footsoldiers, horseback - all templars are welcome!

And - please - some more stuff like the siegetower and catapult! :D:D

And - ANDY - pppppplllllleeeeeeeaaasssssssseeeeeee! Hugo de Paynes - the first Grandmaster and Jacques de Molay - the last Grandmaster. Figures of the pair would be more than nice!

:eek: Just realised! This will cost me big!!!:cool:
 
We need some more siege engines, and a new Tiger Tank.:)
Just kidding about the Tank. But I am not sure whether the Crusaders should be besieging a Muslim Castle or whether they should be out fighting in the desert like at Hattin. K and C originally said they were intended to be attacking a fortress but now I am not so sure. I know that Templar has a good diroama of the Crusades.

I've only just started collecting crusaders so I've got a little catching up to do:). One thing I've noticed is that they don't seem to be themed around any one specific event like Hattin or siege of Tyre etc. Just thinking it would be cool to have several, say 15-30, figures with the same heraldry/colours to group together for a larger dio. For instance I really like MK14 and would like to add some squires/retainers along with him, I think there is currently only 1 other guy that is similar, MK11? Would also like to see K&C make some more ladder climbers/siege guys. This is one range that because of the type of melee combat really lends itself to dramatic display.
 
How about a line depicting all the Grandmasters, kind of a collectors club for the crusades! Templars have always been a popular subject and you could certainly do enough different poses from parade/mounted/fighting/court poses etc to keep them interesting:).
 
I think any figures that depict any of the Military Orders would sell well. Also, how about the Crusades closer to home? Spain? The Baltic? There were more to them than just the Middle East.

I have read a couple great books on the 4th Crusade and there are some great personalities to replicate in that one. The fall of Constantinople is an incredible story.

OK - they will be on the marked later this year, and there is a Hospitaller set too!

Personal, i would - as a Dane - like to see more of the Baltic Crusade - Our old king - Valdemar Sejr - did at lot of "crusading" in the Baltic area and history tells that our flag "Dannebrog" fell from the sky on June the 15th - 1219 in Estonia - just as we were loosing the battle - This event gave the Danish crusaders the victory! :)
 
Second that! The Teutonic knights "crusaded" against pagan eastern Europe. As fo the fourth crusade, well if you want to see Byzantium history, go to Venice:(. There were so many interesting personalities and such a wide scope of time and countries the possibilities are great. If the current line does well I'm sure the good folks at K&C won't dissapoint!:) Speaking of which, better check the mail to see if that new saracen has made it to the battlefield.;)

It was very interesting to see how they actually lived. I found the book fascinating.

A good book that I read on the Templars was by Malcolm Barber. Titled "The New Knighthood: A History of the Order of the Temple. What books have you read that you have interesting on the Templars?

I have a lot of books about the Templars, but only a few is written/translated into Danish! Among them Malcolm Barbers "Trial of the Templars" - a realy interesting book! The one you mention i have in Swedish, but it is more difficult to read than Arab i think :D

You should read "The Knights Templar - A new History" by Helen Nicholson! Great book!
 
These sound like some great books. I've read numerous books on the crusades and a few on the Templars themselves. There is so much, how shall I say, questionable material out there on the Poor Knights of Christ one has to be careful;):). I'll have to try and pick up a copy of Rule of the Templars. Any good figure suggestions from these books?
 
I would appreciate a good bibliography on the Knights Templar. I don't want anyone wierdo conspiracy theory books about how the Knights are the Illuminati etc etc or Dan Brown type things. Does anyone have a good booklist about the real Knights Templar?
