Who are these Blokes? (2 Viewers)

Some more blokes, one turned out to be a tad tricky and one didn't serve in WW2..............

Interesting thread Wayne.:salute::

Somewhere I have a book on famous people from WW2.

Nixon from your last group.

How about some Brits ?

James Earl Carter, our 39th President. He served under Admiral Rickover, developing our nuclear sub capabilities

Richard Milhouse Nixon, our 37th President. A man of many contrasts, brilliant, but in the end, his moral compass failed him and he made some crucially wrong decisions.

Prost!

Wayne, great idea for a thread. The Baron beat me to Carter. One could never forget Nixon.

Hello The World,
My attempt on the British faces posted by Waynepoo are from the top: Michael Rennie ; Richard Todd --who landed at Pegasus Bridge for real as a captain in the 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion. He subsequently played the part of Major John Howard of the Oxs. and Bucks. Light Infantry who led the glider assault on Pegasus Bridge -- the 1st troops to land on D Day. So not only did Richard Todd get promoted in his acting career he arrived earlier on the bridge. (Todd met John Howard on D' Day.) The 3rd picture is of Benny Hill , who went on to be a ribald British comedian, and in the last picture the person on the right is a young Anthony Hopkins, doing his national service.
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all on/at Treefrog.
Fröhliches Weihnachten

Dayyyymmm, yes! Benny Hill and Sir Tony, I can see them, now that you name them.

Who is the dashing fellow in the first photo in that group, before the photo of Klaatu? Or is that Richard Todd?

Prost!

Hi got the running order wrong for the pictures - it is Richard Todd, Benny Hill then Michael Rennie then Anthony Hopkins.
OOPS sorry for the confusion.
Richard Todd also played another WW2 hero -Guy Gibson in The Dam Busters 1955 and with Ronnie Regan in The Hasty Heart 1949.
