Who here is buying the new king tiger!!!! (1 Viewer)

Hi Simmo ,in the toilet indeed ,the australian dollar has fallen again since you've posted. 1 AUD = 0.63 USD..the tiger would now be $355...where's my wheelbarrow:D:D:

The currency is useless...We could always try bartering..Andy could start quoting prices in bags of rice or bushell's of wheat ..or sheep..or even camels:D:D:D

$363 and continuing to fall:eek:

Can you guys post pictures as you receive the King Tiger? I'm still on the fence on this one. In some pictures I've seen I'm not happy with the colors or the brightness but in others I think it looks great. The wheel and track detail is a little iffy for me as well. Also, I can accept that the tow cables were lost but at very least I would think the mounts should be on the hull.

I have noticed the same thing about the colors. I want it really badly, but the colors certainly do look better in some photos than others.

have to agree that on some photos the colour does look bright , but I'm still going to get one :)

Just recieved my King Tiger and it is a WINNER. Excellent size, paint, and figures. The camo paint is very subdued and realistic looking. My favorite KC product to date. Highly recommended. -- lancer

How about a few pictures? Always nice to see the new items in their new

homes!

Would love to post pix but I have no camera. I do not have a single photo of my collection. -- lancer

Well you need to treat yourself to one for the Holidays. They have become

quite inexpensive, and it is easy to download the images to your computer,

and to the internet.

I'm sure you would enjoy being able to share pictures with other collectors,

and keep a photographic record of your collection.

Digital cameras have made great progress in the last few years, you should

take a look.:D

I'm with ya, lancer, I don't have one, either. Njja is right, you can save up for one in a short time, I am doing that now, though my small treasury took some hits this month for truck repairs and a new oil burner. Might take a little longer to get one than I planned. Plus, I keep buying figures ;)

Prost!

I got the Tiger yesterday. Some initial impressions:
1. It's a beast. Huge. Just a bit too large to justify displaying it alongside the old KTs.
2. I've never complained about any KC paint schemes. These are toy soldiers, not models, and I appreciate vivid colors. I don't think it has the visual punch that WS071 had because the color is more muted, but that's not a complaint, simply an observation. The Tiger looks fine.
3. Is it better than the old KTs? Aside from the scale, the detail is better, the lines crisper. The lack of tow cables doesn't bother me, though it is odd.
4. The crew is excellent. I really like the guy sitting with map in hand. Very cool sculpt and colorful to boot. He's got heavy winter gloves on, however, so you can't use him in a summer diorama. Replace him with someone from another crew.
5. Disappointed only that the commander cupola is shallow. I can't swap out the commander for my WS071 commander because he stands too high. WS071 commander is one of my favorite pieces, so I was hoping to use him.

Overall, a nice piece. I'm pleased with it.

Excellent review.
I've got the previous 2 K&C King Tiger's and i'm really pleased with them.
This new one obviously looks improved in certain areas but the increased price is a big factor in whether to buy it or not.

The new Tiger 2 is much larger scale wise than the earlier KC Tiger 2. They will not mesh together. The earlier KT2 is just too underscale. The new KT2 is a much superior model in scale size with excellent subdued camo. One small note-- the rain guard over the sight aperture did not appear on production KT2's until January 1945. This is too late to have been with the Peiper KG. This is only noted for accuracy fanatics in terms of the BoB. My new KT2 is still going to Stavelot. -- lancer

What putting me of is the price :(
I can get three Dragon 1/35 tanks for the price of the K&C king tiger :(

I have the new king ordered more.
He is certainly very expensive but worth his money.

richard:)

Or the 1/16th scale Forces of Valor version from a couple of years ago.
I saw that one at a show for £100 but the size of it in it's massive ammo crate was just too impractical for me to keep anywhere!

I have to say to all you on the fence, if you pass on this K2 you are going to be sorry. Yes, it is expensive, but if you like German armor, beg or borrow but get the Tiger. -- lancer
