The Treefroggers will be arriving in Chicago on Thursday afternoon, so we hope to be set up by Thursday evening.

We will be travelling with a gaggle of folk from Argentina! The Beau Geste and Honour Bound crew will be coming in full force (after a mini-Minnesota tour).

I can't wait!

Pete

Very cool Pete, looking forward to seeing you all,

Carlos

Michael,
OTSN is more than a toy soldier show, it is an EVENT not to be missed. I'm so fired up on the way out, I usually drive strait through from Boston, all 18 hours of it. The first time I attended, I was overwhelmed for a day or so, but once I figured out the lay of the land, I was fine.

I have met a lot of great people, customers, manufacturers and dealers alike, who all share a passion for this great hobby of ours. Not only do you get to see all the newest releases and meet the dealers and fellow collectors in person, you get to meet all the manfucturers, see what is in the works from them and talk to them face to face.

One of the many highlights of the show for me is when Andy stops by my rooms to view my displays and then invites me down to his room to show me all the prototypes he brings of upcoming releases. It's Christmas Eve three months early.........

George (Warrior)

Your response to Michael is very, very well stated. The Chicago show is truly the event of the toy soldier collector's year!

Warm regards,

Pat

Pat,
Thanks for the kind words; I actually get depressed on the ride home when it hits me that the show is over. It's kind of like the day after Christmas as I look forward to it so much and then when Christmas is over, it is depressing.

More than just a show, it is a social event and I love the interaction between the customers, dealers and the manufacturers for five days. I am already planning out my displays for the new products that are due at that time from K & C, Figarti, Britains, The New Model Army and Honour Bound. I know what is coming from all of them but there are certain things about which I cannot let the cat out of the bag  , but all of you will find out soon enough :) ...................

George, what great baiting technique you just used.;) Give us collectors something, just enough the make the mouth water, then jerk the hook at the show.:D What a great salesman you are.

I too am looking forward to this with great excitement.

I'll be there! Very excited already. Hope to see lots of you guys there. For those who are on the fence and haven't been before, you GOTTA go if you love toy soldiers. Nothin' else like it.

Well, I have heard so much about Chicago from some pretty reliable sources - Pete and Shannon personally invited me last year and I was unable to attend; Warrior (George) and his glowing description, and, other great members of this forum - that I have sold my 1:50 diecast construction equipment collection:( . I sold my trains a few years ago:( when I started collecting diecast. I will not be selling my men. This hobby is way too much fun for me to give it up.

It (my diecast collection) was pretty extensive and I am very pleased with the price I got (and that I am getting) for it on eBay. Others have told me to come with a fat wallet and I now can do just that. This all sounds like so much fun.

I hope that the socializing is as pleasant and cordial as this forum is. I look forward to the opportunity to meet and share a meal and a beer or two, not type, to my friends from around the world (dealers and collectors).

I have even been able to have my employer pay for the trip. It just so happens that a conference is being held in Chicago on Monday and Tuesday and my Board of Directors (I work for a board of 16 members ranging from County Commissioners to City Council members to bank presidents and to utility company district managers with a couple of normal people thrown in for good luck and common sense) believes that this particular conference will be beneficial to my professional development. Ha, if they only knew, the real benefit to me will be the remainder of the week with you guys.

Can ya tell (duh), I am just like a little kid again with the excitment.:p

You are going to love it. I was there last year for the first time and it was awesome. I spent $1500 to fly my family and myself and don't regret it. I'm still trying to see if I can make it this year. You meet some many people and see so many things its just great.

Looks like I'll be there Monday but don't know if I'll leave Friday or Saturday. Will there be another dinner hosted by Treefrogs and Sierra?
