Who to colect? (1 Viewer)

Yes its very good to see such a balanced discussion here.I would really agree with a lot of posts here.Whilst i think K&C Figures (especially WW2) are the best and their Vehicles are also excellant,i think HB make some wonderful vehicles whilst their figures (imo only of course)are not quite up there yet.I think Figarti produce some wonderful stuff and now they are moving into 1/30 well thats just fine with me!.(their V1 really is a stonkingly good model!)NMA have also made some excellant things, Mortar crew,Sturmtiger etc and i await with interest their Tiger. There is a wide choice out there for the collector right now and the hobby seems to be booming, 'we have never had it so good'!:D

Ozzopolar,

That, for me, is exactly what this forum is about, so please, ask away, whether you suspect it's been covered before or not.

K&C have quite deservedly (IMO) attracted a large following, but there are plenty of collectors who collect other manufacturers and many who collect from multiple manufacturers.

I hope you get the answers and suggestions you look for.

Cheers
Simon

I couldn't agree more with your post Simon.
Ozzopolar, please don't hesitate to ask questions of any kind. I have found that there are plenty of really nice people on this forum who are extremely willing to offer good advice.
Best Regards

The "New" Britains are putting out some great figures. Their 18th and 19th century lines of AWI, ACW and Napoleonic are historically accurate with a wide variety of uniform types represented within each unit showing soldiers as they would look on campaign. The scenics to go with these lines are probably the best out there. Also, they're managing to keep everything to one consistant scale, so any upcoming sets will go beautifully with those you've already purchased. And more new great looking lines are coming, like the Zulu War of 1879.

Thank you again guys you have been great and with all the info I got from you I have ordered some King and Country and some John Jenkins. I like the K&C for my WWII and WWI and the J.Jenkins I will be doing for the French/British war here in Canada I could not resist. I have also ordered more W.Britains and some K&C some from the Alamo collection and some K&C from the American Civil War collection. Now I am looking for a good Napoleon on a horse figure to start my Napoleonic collection any recommendations ?

Nice one mate. You can now join the rest of us on the slippery slope to financial oblivian :D

I only dabble in Napoleonics and have got cavalry from K&C and Del Prado. K&C look very nice but aren't cheap, especially for the cavalry figures, whereas Del Prado are reasonable and here in the UK, you can buy them dirt cheap, albeit, you're limited to only one or two poses from each range.

I'm sure Fish, Wellington, Ron, Fubar or one of the other Nap collectors will be able to provide you with a first rate recommendation.

Happy collecting.

Simon
