Who was this figure based on? Was he a real person or was the figure based on an idea that there was a para who had a carbine?

It was a P figure and given a name so I suspect it was real but can anyone confirm this?

Would really like to read up on this man if he was real but can find no records?

Not come across a Jack Scott there was a Kenneth James Scott who was in the airborne landings but, I don't see a connection

Made up name I reckon, there's the well known piccy of the Airborne soldier in the Hartenstein with a Carbine. Staff Sergeant Victor Miller of the Glider Pilot Regiment relates in his book that after getting to the Hartenstein he was issued with an M1 Carbine (after 'losing' his PIAT!) and a hundred rounds... he thought the Carbine an excellent weapon and carried it for the rest of the battle.

Thank you very much mate, recon this maybe the case, unless there is another rare story such as this!;)
