Hi Guys,

I believe at the time it was going to be glossy because the City Imperial Volunteers are glossy.

Hi Guys:

As far as I know Gallipoli was going to be a new matte finish range that did not quite happen. Have never gotten the whole story. To my thinking the CIV glossies would not have fit with the style of the Gallipoli figures that I saw pictured. Apples and oranges. But hey, lots of wild stuff in those days so never say never...

I have been guilty of going too many places at once the last few years and have to remind myself of that great line from "Top Gun" - I am going to stay with my wing man! So, Somme it is gentlemen, and Somme it will be for awhile. Then again a few short years and we'll see the Gallipoli anniversary, now lets light this up again then....

Meanwhile, I'd love to get to the bottom of that great series that never was...

WWI is a fascinating and captivating period for this hobby - there is an almost unlimited scope for variety of figures and scenarios. Gallipoli was itself a fascinating 'event' but the Somme, along with Ypres, is buried in the psyche of so much of the European population, and traces long links and bonds with Australians. The European theatre opens much more scope than the singular event of Gallipoli. Looking forward to the 'over the top' range....and some vehicles would be good :) All I want for Xmas is a Marne Taxi...:wink2:

The Australians (with soft hats/caps) and British (complete with sun helmets) is a very exciting prospect indeed and one I would religously collect. The Australian Light Horse figures from K&C are absolutely fantastic and Britains should corner the Australian/Allied infantry market from the Dardenelles campaign ASAP!
