Why do a number US sellers who are members refuse to post to members overseas (1 Viewer)

I've tried to buy from members here before but no one is willing to ship outside US even to Canada :) so I gave up buying here.
I guess it's just too much hassle to fill out paper work at post office shipping outside US for them.

I just shipped some books to Canada. Now if I shipped them in the US media it would have cost maybe $8-10 .Sending them to Canada cost $55 .Now he was willing to pay the shipping but the last dozen or so from Canada,UK,Australia wasn't so basically it's a waste of my time to pack something up and take it to the post office when I know most won't end up buying it. The woman at the post office told me to tell him to be patient as it will be a while before he gets them. One more thing is that the people at the post office actually get a little snippy as they hate shipping international.

That's why I mostly buy from ebay now if the price (and shipping cost) is right.

I do not buy normally from the US, postage is an issue, but you know that cost or should do when you bid, however, i just bought a single figure, paid £97, orginal cost was £55, but it was the only missing figure from that range. It was posted on Tuesday 2nd Nov 21 and i have been checking the progress, the parcel is still in the US, it would have traveeled further if i would have carried it and walked. meanwhile i bought some new Warpark figures on November 1st 21 and they arrived from China this morning. I think the awful US postal service may have something to do with it and the problems of stuff going missing and getting damaged.

It is a free choice to sell to whoever you want too, is a personal choice, just respect that. They have no need to justify themselves, I do not send abroad [and in the UK] unless the buyer is will to pay for tracking and signature on arrival.

For me the question is - Why do you buy from the States? Answering my own question, but possibly price and a rare piece, i understand, but following my onging saga which could turn into a Greek tradegy, who knows. I bought a rare [ish] piece on October 2nd 21 and the seller [great service] posted it on Monday 4th October 21, after travelling a relative few miles over 2 days it arrived at a 'Consolidation Centre' and is being 'Processed'. Following the tracking it has sat there ever since........... that is 40 days. I will definately consider not buying from the US again.

Has the seller put in an inquiry with the USPS?

While stuff does get delayed and just sit occasionally, if there have been no tracking updates in 40 days a case needs to be opened with the USPS. They will assign an investigator to track down the package. If they can not locate it then the seller should file a lost item insurance claim and refund your money.

I've had this happen before where stuff just sits in customs forever (shipped from overseas coming into US). Same timeframe of sitting in customs for 30 days. I had the seller contact USPS to file a claim, and the package miraculously cleared customs and showed up on my door 3 days later.
