I like to browse through the King & Country listings on ebay regularly to see how much my retired items are worth and to see what retired items I might want to buy. But, I hate wasting time scanning through all the stuff that not only isn't retired, it's brand new. Why would anyone pay to list new items on ebay when they are available from any dealer. Nobody ever bids on these new items anyway, so whoever is selling is just wasting money on listing fees.

I buy a lot of my purchases through ebay as I don't have access to a store that sells toy soldiers.

There one dealer offering buy it now or best offer & when you put a bid in he come back with the RRP
What the point

Hi Brad-

Who is living in Canada and is selling new items on eBay?

Pierre.

I was referring to Kurt's question why the brit farmer didn't buy from K & C UK. He assumed that the brit farmer must live in the UK but he lives in Canada.

:)

Brad-

And that's a good reason for not buying in UK, except for the Crimean War serie from K&C UK.

No shipping fees + the voucher + the extraordinary quality of the figures = a pretty good deal. Thanks Tony :)

Pierre.

My mistake. In that case, why not buy from TreeFrog or some other Online dealer? Again, just curious.

Hi Kurt-

I am also living in Canada and the reasons why I am not buying from TF are the shipping fees and the taxes.

I am buying from dealers in Ontario and, that way, avoid the Quebec Sale Tax (7.5%).

Pierre.

Same as Pierre you have to watch where you are buying from as sometimes by the time you have paid the duty, postage etc... it ends up costing you a lot. :(

eBay is a very strange market place. Many people out there are eBay centric and cannot imagine purchasing any other way.

It's also good marketing to bring people to other websites (like mine). I sell a lot of figurines, so I do pretty well when I list them on eBay but it also brings people to my site for larger purchases.

Why waste your time looking at retired items on EBAY when all the dealers still have retired items for the original price........

Silly people are jumping the gun. One really has to look before commiting on ebay. I do.

There are several good reasons to buy figures on ebay. I try to buy from an online dealer or the company when the item is available but frequently it is not, even if not retired. You can also find good deals although that is much more a factor of luck these days.

Please post the names of said Dealers that have all of the RETIRED ITEMS AT ORIGINAL PRICE. It would help me fill gaps in my collection.
