Do you think we will ever see some glossy WW2 figures done in the Redcoats range? I really am hopeing we will get a marching WW2 Soldier holding a Bren Gun from the hip, even better if he was from the 29th Worcester Reg as that's my Grandads reg & he carried a Bren Gun during the War,
My Grandad would of been 100 in October & would of loved the Redcoats range, he collected all things glossy mostly from Britains & had been an avid collector most of his life, he even got me & my Brothers into it during the 80's & 90's with the new metal models range! He always said that he wished he could buy some glossy WW2 but there wasn't any about before he died, one day I hope we will see some!

Hi Craig,

I wish they would do more glossy Durbar as well. I seriously doubt either of us will get our wish here. Just the way of things these days when everyone is into WWII and hyper realistic figures. While I do like some of the offerings in matte I would prefer series like The War along the Nile and others to be glossy and the old standard in size so they would blend with my other figures from that era. Maybe we will see it someday. As to the Glossy WWII figures the only company that is currently doing any (as far as I know) is Hiriart. You need to contact UCLA1967 and see if he can get the figure you want made. They do specials and I would imagine a marching British Soldier with a Bren Gun would not be hard to make.

Hi Dave, I have to agree the Durbar would of done better if it had stayed gloss! The Redcoats range has done lots from the older Wars it would be nice to see them head more into the last centurys conflicts, WW1, WW2, Falklands & even the gulf war would be nice to see done in glossy even if its just a few figures ever & there? That way you get a full collection of how the British uniform has changed over the years. Ill look into Hiariart didn't realise that they did glossy WW2.

Hi Craig,

I was out bid on a really cool set of Hiriart WWII Germans with a Panzer 2 in North Africa all in glossy it would have been great to nab that set. Oh well that what happens in auctions win some lose some...

Like I mentioned before get in touch with UCLA1967 he is a dealer for them and should have a good idea of what they are producing and costs.

Hi Dave/Craig

Have you looked at Asset list recently they do some Durbar stuff but have just released their own war on the Nile series including some camel troops and they are the smaller true 54mm scale they also do some WW2 stuff. You can get them painted or unpainted and they are a good price. All sculpted by Alan Caton
Highly recommended.

I made some WW2 figures for the National Army Museum, including a Bren gunner. They may still have some.
